Truth and Evolution

Posted: http://www.dailyrecord.com/, Forums, Opinion, Wed Sep 19, 2007 4:42 pm Post subject: "Earth: Round or Flat?"

“After declaring she didn't "believe in evolution, period," new "View" co-host Sherri Shepherd was asked if she thought the world was flat. Her response to moderator Whoopi Goldberg is in the clip. Jeffrey is Shepherd's two-year-old son.”

It appears, like it does to lots of people, that Sherri Shepherd doesn’t understand that she can believe in God and evolution too.

This is just another example how children are not taught truth in schools. Now those children have become adults; confused, and teaching the same false teaching; no matter whether they are atheists or Christians. Truth gets scattered to the wind. Truth has low priority. Most people seem to busy or whatever to care; and the world is killing itself over religious differences and misunderstandings. To God, it must appear that we would rather kill one another, than to debate or pursue truth, or love one another. We exchange truth for apathy and toleration.

Well; I already answered this earlier, -- just before it happened. Is God trying to show us something or what? I answered it twice, in the post, “Let’s Debate Creation vs. Evolution.”

For one to say, that they ‘don’t believe in evolution, period,’ is to deny the facts of evolution taught in the Bible.

About truth, --“The word “evolution” is a classic example. Several well-known scientists, including the late Carl Sagan in his TV program “Cosmos,” have made the statement that evolution is a fact. No true scientist could or would ever say that the evolution of man from an amoeba is a fact. To make such a statement is to deny scientific method entirely. On the other hand, it is a fact that living things can change. No one questions whether or not dogs have come about from ancient wolf-like ancestors. This is evolution! It is factual!

By not adequately defining what they mean by evolution, a lack of integrity is demonstrated by scientists. And, I have heard ministers say “you cannot believe in evolution and believe in God (or the Bible.)” This statement does not make sense in several ways, but it is especially devious and destructive when the word “evolution” is not given an adequate definition.”

I don’t know why Sherri Shepherd was asked if the earth is flat. (?) Neither the Bible, from the source; nor science, the created, teaches that the earth is flat. Although, mankind used to believe in a flat earth, the Bible authors wrote factual truth, not the common beliefs of the day, thus proving that what they wrote down was guided by a higher intelligence. One of ways that we can know that the Bible is from God is by its checkability.

It is time for global heart warming, --truth not bombs.
That is the message.

Gospel in a Nut Shell

Posted: http://www.dailyrecord.com/, Forums, Opinion, Sun Sep 16, 2007 5:59 pm Post subject: "Bible glorifies Violence."

To someone,

Here is the reply, in a ‘Nut’ Shell:

Yes; there is a lot of violence in the Old Testament, brought about by the sin and disobedience of men to God. History, along with the Old Testament was/is meant to teach us something. Because of sin, men were doomed. Jesus came into the world, to take our sins upon Himself. He fulfilled the Old Testament, and gave us a New Testament, sealed for us forever by His blood on the cross.

We all fall short, but we can be washed in the blood of Jesus, making us white as snow in the eyes of God. We are no longer cursed under the Law of the Old Testament, but heirs of the free gift of grace, now through faith in the son of God.

Jesus was accused of working on the Sabbath; but, he explained it all….so, we no more see in a mirror darkly. Christians are not Sabbath keepers; so working on Saturdays is no big deal.

Women are not lesser than men. Men and women have different roles. Each answer to and worship God. Men and women compliment one another. In marriage, a man and a woman become one. A husband should be willing to give his life for his wife, as Christ loved and gave up his life to His bride, the church.

The command is not, “Thou shall not kill.” What the command really states is, “Thou shall not murder.”

New Testament Gospel

Posted: http://www.dailyrecord.com/, Forums, Opinion, Sun Sep 16, 2007 8:46 pm Post subject: "Bible glorifies Violence."

someone,

Yes. The New Testament gospel is simple enough, and the words of Christ, can be easily seen in red letter editions of the Bible. The richness and power of it are easily recognized.

When I first really read it, about 50 years ago, I didn't know who wrote it, but I recognized the power and the wisdom that Christ taught.

See the book of Acts, to see how people were really saved and added to the Lord's church. History, and the Old Testament can really nail down the faith; because one can recognize how miraculious it all comes together.

Have I really studied the Koran for myself, as such? --No, not yet; just what I have picked up from studies and other sources.

I write a lot, but I am not a professional or scholor, so I don't mind being corrected. That is what we are here for; to share our thoughts and opinions, and even our faiths. As long as we can keep our respect for one another.

All I care about is truth, whereever it might be hiding, or whoever has it. Why would anyone want to stake their life on anything less? It is easy to become deceived. I used to do magic tricks, for fun; but then found it a bit scarry, because people can be so gullible to deception. That was when I was very young.

Bible Violence

Two thoughts here:

(1) That person must still be waiting to be shown “a few passages that show the Bible glorifying violence and/or encouraging Christians to kill non-Christians.”

I can’t think of any. Bear in mind that the word ‘Christian’ signifies a follower of Christ. The name was first applied to the disciples at Antioch in Syria about 43 AD. (Acts 11:26). But, even in the Old Testament I fail to see violence being ‘glorified.’ It seemed to be more of a sad necessity. If God ‘glorifies’ violence; why did He go against that nature, to send and sacrifice Christ into the world, to free mankind from the laws of sin and death? Jesus Christ did not condone violence. Rather; He taught and showed us God’s love and how we should love God and one another.

(2) someone, Can you be more specific? I don’t see the ‘ironey” that you are referring to in my statements. I do appreciate your feedback. And I would enjoy the opportunity to respond, if only I knew where you are coming from.

OOOoooo K.! someone,

There is no pick and choosing going on here. It is a matter of taking the whole word of God and history as it has transpired.

“ In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:1-3).

Jesus said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” (Luke 22:20). Jesus in his life and ministry fulfilled the Old Testament Scriptures, and all the Gospel writers quote the OT. Jesus is the fulfillment of the OT predictions of the Messiah. Hebrews 8 explains how Jesus is the High Priest of a New Covenant. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.’ By calling this covenant ‘new,’ he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.” (Hebrews 8:12-13.).

The commandment, “Thou Shalt Not Murder,” is not a revision of mine. Several Hebrew and Greek verbs mean “kill.” However; the verbs used here specifically mean “murder.” The New International Version (NIV) of the Bible translates the word “murder.”

Exposing factual mistakes of the Koran proves that the writings are not of God. I compared this with the Bible, which miraculously, does not contain discrepancies that one would expect from writers of the time. One way that you can know that the Bible is inspired by God, is it’s checkability for accuracy.

In each case the Bible writer had an opportunity to either state the widely held erroneous belief of the day, or to state a factually true description. In each case what was stated was true, demonstrating knowledge beyond the writer’s ability and thus necessarily from God. The Koran does not hold up to such checkability.

Yes; unfortunately there are many churches, all teaching different things, and doing whatever in the name of Christianity, that may or may not be accurately doing what the Bible teaches.. Even the Ku Klux Klan claims to be ‘Christian.’ You may have noted my post, “Let’s Debate, --Which is the True Church?” One such example, is that many churches preach that one is saved by praying the ‘sinner’s prayer.’ That does not come from the Bible; and there is no example of anyone ever being saved by praying the ‘sinner’s prayer.’ One can see very clearly, in the book of Acts, Acts 2:38, for what they need to know, and for many examples of how people are saved and added to Christ’s church. Note my posting, “Let’s Debate, --Christianity; How are People Saved?”

Bible Does Not Say that Women are Inferior

To Someone,

God was not happy with Adam, nor with Eve. I don't think God is playing favorites here.

Genesis 3:16-20:
"Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living."

"It's obvious, according to the plain meaning of words, that Christians believe women are inferior. It's right in the good book."
Respondent, would you please show me the chapter/s and verses in the Bible that you are referring to?

Respondent, is your head inferior to your body? Which could you do without?

Postscript to Someone Else: I thank God for Social Security. I certainly would not cut funds for those who have come to need these benefits to live on. But, yes; I agree with you, to a point, in that benefits should be cut or eliminated for those who have been so blessed, such as you, who don't need the resource for basic needs, and especially in light of the present instability of this good program. That is what the name "social security" implies to me. Christians not only have a duty to look out for themselves, but more importantly, for one another. How does anyone know what is around the corner in their life? Thank God for 'social security,' and the Christian principles that guide us.

Attributes for a U.S. President

To Someone,

This is interesting. As a Christian, you have no problem with a woman president running our country? How do you feel about women elders and preachers in the church? (Please; people, I am in no way implying that women are inferior.)

When it comes to divorce, especially for an innocent Christian who might not have any say or opportunity to prevent it; have heart. Although; I suppose a person could be held accountable as per good judgement, in choosing a mate who will be faithful.

Another aspect to consider when judging a divorced person, especially the horrors of being divorced more than once, is this: Good Christians do not have premarital sex, nor live together outside of marriage. Many people, who are considered to be "good," people (eligible to be leaders?) do not get married, or divorced, because they just sleep around and bear no commitment at all. Even if they do get caught; they just repent, and all is forgiven and forgotten. Is it better to sleep around, than to take the risk of getting married, that could end up in divorce, never to be forgotten or forgiven?

Yes. We all fall short in one way or another.

Remember; that God does have a hand in the elections of our presidents, as He does in all aspects of our lives. Jesus is the answer.

Truth and Prophesy

Reader Comment, http://www.dailyrecord.com/, Opinion

I totally agree with Peter Zapf about this issue.

This is not about hate or disrespect for people, nor is it about racism.

This is about love for people, about truth. This is about a war going on in heavenly places, between good and evil.

The Koran is not of God. The Koran fails to stand up to the tests of truth and prophesy. Revelations that are truly from God are never wrong. As one would expect from the writings of men; the Koran is typical:

Here; is but a small sampling of the many scientific inaccuracies of the Koran:

The Women 4:23 (Al-Nisa) “Nursing passes on genetic traits from mother to child.” However, the factual truth is that no genetic traits are transmitted by nursing.

Al-Nahl 16:69 (Sura of the Bee) “Honey comes out of a bee’s abdomen and heals men.” The factual truth is honey is not produced in a bee’s abdomen.

The Women 4:23 (Al-Nisa), The Heights 7:172 (Al-Araf) “Semen comes from the back or kidney area, not from the testicles.” The fact is that semen comes from the testicles.

The Prophets 21:31, The Bee 16:15, Lugman 31:10, The News 78:6-8, The Overwhelming 88:17, 19 “God threw down mountains like tent pegs to keep the earth from shaking.” The factual truth is mountains do not keep the earth from shaking and are not in any way like tent pegs.

Al-Anam 6:38 (Sura of the Cattle) “All animals and all things that fly form communities like man.” The fact is that many forms of life do not live in communities. The Ant 27:15-44 (Al-Naml) “Solomon talked with ants, birds, and giants” (not presented as a miracle or a fable.) The factual truth is that this kind of communication does not happen.

Compare this to the truths of the Bible; well beyond the wisdom and knowledge of the people of the day.

Reply to: It's the Bible that glorifies violence

Posted: http://www.dailyrecord.com/, Opinion, Wed Sep 12, 2007 9:56 am Post subject: Reply to: It's the Bible that glorifies violence.

I beg your pardon. Jesus Christ, God Himself in His love, came into this world to put down hate and violence; to suffer the justice upon Himself at the cross that we might all be saved from our sins, by grace through faith in Him.

Only God could do it. Jesus came in the name of love, not violence. Jesus shows us the way. The way is to love God and one another; the way of truth and true salvation and life eternal in the sight of God, --not a bed of virgins for suicide bombers, lusting in self and the flesh.

The Bible shows us the sinfulness and corruption of men; truth, justice and the consequences of sin. The Old Testament, for our learning, leads us into the New Testament, a new covenant for mankind, sealed by God Himself by the blood of Jesus on the Cross. Jesus Christ Himself; --both Son of man, and Son of God.

What is the history and where is the authorization of the Koran? Why does it contain man-made errors, if it is truly the revelation of the one true God? And where does it lead? If I can take the whole Bible; why cannot we take the whole Koran? Does God lead us with contradictory commands, to be taken cafeteria style, so that we can make up our own religion and reality and morals?

Hope without truth, is no hope at all. There is a war going on in heavenly places. There is no other name on earth, that one can be saved, than through the name of Jesus Christ, God Himself. We can recognize the true disciples of God by their fruit. Bad fruit does not grow on good trees. Think about it. Who is your God? And why? Where is the authority? Where is the history? Where is the fruit of your faith? Is it of God; or is it of men?

God bless and save us all from ouselves.

Global Heart Warming

Posted: dailyrecord.com, Forums, Opinion, Wed Sep 12, 2007 1:06 am Post subject: Tone down the rhetoric; Let's keep Mosque debate in focus

This is about life and death!

Yet, the sad situation is that not many people in this country are very serious about truth, their ‘faith, or even their own religion.’

This is the blind and apathetic, busy generation in our new America that has a mind set that says, “Teach only evolution in the schools, and limit all evidences of God, creationism and intelligent design to the churches.” “Keep God out of the schools! “ Keep God out of our government. ““Keep God away from our children!” “Keep God out of everything we can! “ Truth, has been reduced to non-concern., and replaced with tolerance for what-ever goes, and every religion, or any way of life.

When do we ever talk about truth? It seems like people prefer to kill one another, than to sit down peacefully, and discuss and debate what and where is the truth? Who has it? Which religions stand up to scrutiny; and which do not? What is the history? Where are the evidences? What are the fruits? Who and where is the authority? What is valid, and what is not? How many truths can there be?

However; Muslims are very serious about their religion.

And, so was Adolph Hitler, in his beliefs about evolution, and the survival of the fittest, --theorized by Charles Darwin, --the only thing allowed to be taught in our schools as truth, --regardless of what is scientifically proven or not proven.

We are taught far beyond known truth, far fetched theories about evolution not backed up by any science, and not to be questioned. Nor do we care about one religion from the next; even if their ‘Holy’ book sets them out to kill us. After all; we wouldn’t want to be accused of being a bigot!

Later, we blame and cry to God for our woes and tribulations; but, the truth is --that we do reap what we sow.

The outcome of our apathy and the lies we harbor, is deception and destruction. Love, or the enemy of love. Roots in a solid foundation that stand tall and strong as the mighty oak tree, or loose and unattended brush to be blown away in the sand?

How can we expect God to care about us; when we do not even care about ourselves, or each other? God is love. God is truth; God’s truth. We really ought to pay more attention, for the love and survival of our children, and all of mankind.

That is; what we need, is a good dose of global heart-warming.

Can You Hear the 9/11 Victims?

Posted: http://www.dailyrecord.com/ , Forums, Opinion, Tue Sep 11, 2007 6:52 pm Post subject: It's a time to listen...

Yes; I can “Hear what the victims would ‘say.” And they are not beckoning for us to be quiet, and go back to sleep.

Yes; I can hear: “We died together horribly, quickly, unexpectedly, unfairly, but had time to see some truths.”

No; I do not hear: “Abandoning goodness, love and integrity for righteousness, retribution and prejudice mocks our sacrifice.”

One doesn’t abandon goodness, love and integrity, in the name of righteousness, --’righteousness,’ is all those things! Retribution and prejudice is not righteousness.

In their absolute found truth; here are the kind of things that I do clearly hear those 9/11 victims crying out:

“Love God and one another.”

“Do not repay evil with evil.”

“ Love your enemies.”

“Jesus Christ has all authority in heaven and on earth. Listen to Him!”

“There is a war going on in heavenly places.”

“Go and make disciples of all nations.“

“Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that Jesus Christ has commanded you.”

“And surely, He will be with you always, to the very end of the world.”

Of course! Everyone should get 10 million dollars, for any mistake or injustice; --slipping on a grocery store floor, spilling hot coffee on oneself; or whatever.

Doesn't anyone care where this money ultimately comes from?

For everyone lavishing in unearned money; there are people on the other end of the scale who are deprived. Although the government goes about printing more money, so everyone can have more, it becomes worth less and less.

We are all paying for it. Juries should be a bit more cautious how they throw around public money. It really doesn't grow on trees. Somebody, people down the line, are paying for it. We are all paying for it.

Think about it...

I look at who and what the faithful believe and follow.

The Koran is the Holy book of Muslims, and Muslims heed the teachings of their prophet Mohmmad. Read the Koran. That is what they believe; and that is what they teach their children.

Do you think that this has nothing to do with us?

It has everything to do with us.

Muslim Americans? I don’t get it. I must be missing something here. How can anyone be both an American and a Muslim too? Are they not in direct contradiction to one another? What am I missing here?

I am equally awestruck, by the August, 2007 issue of the magazine, “Christianity Today,” originally founded by Billy Graham. Under the feature, on page 15, entitled, “Quotation Marks,” wherein is found the following quotation:

I am both Muslim and Christian, just like I’m both an American of African descent and a woman. I’m 100 percent both.” Ann Holmes Redding, an Episcopal priest in the Olympia diocese. Bishop Vincent Warner says he ‘finds the interfaith possibilities exciting.’”

The only way we are going to solve the problems, is for the people of this world to start looking for, recognizing, and appreciating the value and need for truth. That is TRUTH, --T-R-U-T-H!

“Christianity” that has not, nor does not heed the words of, and follow Jesus Christ, -- is not Christianity. Likewise; those who do not follow the teachings of the Koran, and their prophet Mohammad, are not Muslims.

Ref: “Veteran NBC reporter’s book recalls 50 years of space flight”

Veteran NBC space correspondent Jay Barbree’s memoir, ‘Live from Cape Canaveral,’ is being released over the Labor Day weekend by Smithsonian Books.

‘”There are an awful lot of guys…who were here for the early days and they’re no longer here,’ Barbree, 73, said recently at the Kennedy Space Center…’ “

I was a photographer for NASA, at Cape Canaveral, during those early years.

Of the three tragedies, the Apollo spacecraft fire in 1967 hit him hardest…”

That was my area, LC-34. I was the only photographer specifically stationed there, with a desk inside the block house. I was assigned to stay overtime that late afternoon, to provide motion picture coverage of the astronauts and the test going on, Apollo 1, Jan 27, 1967. As I was about to gather up my camera and equipment; I was told, at the last minute, to ’forget about staying overtime, because they couldn’t get any light up there.’ So, I left the space center proceeding to drive home, but first I stopped at a local bowling alley, in Cocoa Beach. It was there I heard the announcement that the command module had blown up inside, killing all three astronauts, Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee.

Later, on July 16,1969; as Spacecraft Photographer, NASA had me taking pictures inside the command module of Apollo 11, just moments before the astronauts boarded, and blasted off toward making the 1st lunar landing.

Hope for the Nations. ( http://www.un.org/ )

Keep this world from impending doom.“Go and make disciples of all nations…” (Mat.28:19)

Who; or what, holds out saving hope for all people and all nations; but the guidance, wisdom and power of the words of Jesus Christ; easily found in red-letter editions of the Holy Bible, New Testament. The value of the divine wisdom there, pure truth and love is easily recognized. There is no other hope for the world, for mankind. Read it, --it is obvious! There is no other way.

Stop fighting and killing each other over the Old Testament; which was merely a shadow and school master of what was to come. God in His love, has given mankind a New Covenant, sealed it in the blood of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of our sins; that we might enter into the gate of Heaven; which is a free gift, by grace through faith, a new life in us forever in the Holy presence of God Himself. God’s Kingdom is not of this earth.

God’s chosen people today are those who receive Him and obey His commandments. Jesus Christ, God, son of God, son of man; has been given all authority over Heaven and earth. There is no other name whom man can enter in.

The only true hope for this lost world is to love and cherish the really one and true God, --Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-- and one another. Three are one, as easily as two elements, hydrogen and oxygen, equal water. Or what is a head without a body? Or a body without a head? Together, they are one. The three entities of God, are one. Christ prayed that we be one with Him, on earth as it is in Heaven. God is love. God is Truth. We are one, connected together in all the universe.

Won’t we ever stop this insane, barbaric, killing of one another? ‘Holy’ Wars? Suicide bombers? Who are the benefactors? Evil, like cancer, turns inward on itself, after it is finished killing off it’s host. Evil begets evil, and bears no fruit. Why does man love it so?

Which side are we on? Where is the UN in all of this? Is there any hope? Does anyone care? Will the UN be tossed to the wind and die? Will we all? Will all the nations just blow themselves up?

Let’s turn on the lights! Truth is not in the darkness, but in the light. The light overcomes the darkness. Jesus is the light, the word, and the life for all nations, and all the people. Jesus Christ, Son of God, son of man; has been given all authority in Heaven and on earth. God walked with us, and talked with us, and showed us the way. Jesus is the way.

If the UN disagrees; than show us what is the better way. What road should nations follow? Or, do they follow no good road at all? --driving on crumbling roads and rusty bridges, paved with hate and greed?

We have a choice. We hold present and future love, happiness and blessings in our hands. What will we do with them? Will we be thankful? Will we be good stewards of a good life, and for our children? Or will we do nothing, --business as usual, only to become extinct like the dinosaurs who once roamed this earth?

What will it be? Between you and me.

Yes; (*sigh* ) --sadly, you may be right; that humans will never stop trying to kill off one another.

The outcome of what humans choose in life will go on forever.
However; unlike the animals, we are made in the image of God. That is; the attributes of God, in the likeness of Jesus. (Jesus wasn’t made, or made in our likeness; but, we were made in His likeness). Unlike the animals, human beings have a full range of love and emotions, knowledge, creativity, free will, computers and cartoons; the ability to steer our own destiny. The ability to love one another, or to hate and avenge. Today; we have the power to destroy the world; or go to the moon, Mars, and beyond.

Unfortunately, some humans are worse than the animals. Animals often get a bum rap.

Unlike the animals; human beings are accountable to themselves, to God, and to each other. Our future is the course we choose to walk. It is in our hands. Will we be good stewards, and be thankful and generous with God given blessings; or will we just toss our precious lives off to Darwin’s unscientific no hope theories? (…Yes; I said ‘unscientific.’) (From goo to you, by way of the zoo, is unscientific.)

Some people destine themselves, and the world, to the low road. I choose the high road. Maybe you will too…follow the signs that lead to a better place.

OK, …Mr. Harris,

I think that I sort of understand now the point that you have been making all along. I wonder if all those other readers who have come to this posting are as slow as I am; or are they all laughing at seeing the not-so-smart ‘Answer Man’ sweat?

So, you contend that the solution for our not-so-perfect-political-system, is to hold double campaigns; one for parties…I’m all for parties… and another one for candidates. Wow! --This seems like a great windfall for the already wind felled media advertising revenues. Can we afford this?

I was going to ask if you owned a lot of stock in the media; but I can see by your other two campaigns, the seriousness that you have for these issues. Thank God, somebody is watching out for us.

Besides calling for Separate voting for parties and candidates; you are also advocating Instant campaign finance reform, and Political contribution vouchers. I can see that you are way ahead of me, on these important issues.

I am still working on Walt Disney? --or Warner Brothers?

more on, "There's two guys in a tree..."

Posted: Tue Aug 21, 2007 1:12 am Post subject: Two Men in a Tree

“In the general election, you can vote for a candidate for president a candidate for the Senate and a candidate for the House. For the sake of argument let's say you wanted to vote for a Democrat for president, a Republican for the Senate and a Green or Libertarian candidate for the House.”

‘What if you could only cast one vote that elected only three candidates from the same party ? ’ ONE VOTE ELECTS THREE CANDIDATES? BUT, IN REALITY, --ONE VOTE IS A VOTE FOR ONE CANDIDATE.

‘Wouldn't you say these are three separate issues and you should be allowed to cast three separate votes on these issues?’ YES, THESE WOULD BE THREE SEPARATE ISSUES, IF ONE VOTE WAS A VOTE FOR THREE CANDIDATES, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

‘The vote that is cast to determine the status of a party in the current election is cast in the previous general election.’ NOW, I AM REALLY CONFUSED. WHAT ELECTION IS THE ‘CURRENT ELECTION’? WHEN DO WE EVER VOTE TO ‘DETERMINE THE STATUS OF A PARTY’? I HAVE NEVER VOTED TO DETERMINE THE STATUS OF A PARTY. THE CANDIDATE, HIM or HERSELF, DECIDES WHAT PARTY HE IS GOING TO RUN IN, IF ANY PARTY AT ALL. WHEN IT COMES TO THE PRIMARY ELECTIONS, WHICH IS ACTUALLY TWO DIFFERENT ELECTIONS IN ONE, I MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE PRIMARY PARTY ELECTION THAT I AM VOTING IN. IT WOULD BE WRONG TO VOTE IN BOTH ELECTIONS IN THE PRIMARIES, BECAUSE A PERSON COULD VOTE IN THE WEAKEST CANDIDATE IN THE OPPOSING PARTY, IN ORDER TO LESSEN THE COMPETITION TO HIS OWN PARTY. IF A PERSON IS NOT A REGISTERED MEMBER OF EITHER PARTY, THAN HE DOESN’T VOTE IN THE PRIMARY ELECTIONS.

‘The vote that is cast to determine the status of a party in the current election is cast in the previous general election.’ NOW THIS IS THE REAL MIND TWISTER. I CAN EXCHANGE ‘CURRENT’ FOR PRIMARY ELECTION, OR GENERAL ELECTION, --BUT EITHER WAY, IT STILL MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. YOU ARE SAYING THAT IN THE PREVIOUS GENERAL ELECTION, YOU WERE CASTING A VOTE THAT WAS USED TO DETERMINE THE PARTY IN THE CURRENT ELECTION. I DON’T GET IT… AGAIN, BOTH YOU AND THE CANDIDATES DECIDE YOUR OWN PARTYS, AND EITHER ONE OF YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR PARTY, AFTER THE PREVIOUS GENERAL ELECTION AND BEFORE THE CURRENT ELECTION. AND IN THE GENERAL ELECTION, PARTYS DON’T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE, BECAUSE YOU CAN VOTE FOR ANY CANDIDATE, ANY PARTY. HOWEVER, SOME VOTERS DO CHOOSE TO VOTE A STRAIGHT PARTY TICKET IN THE GENERAL ELECTION, AND YOU COULD SAY THAT THEY ARE VOTING THEIR PARTY IN, DURING THE CURRENT (NOT FUTURE) GENERAL ELECTION.

SO, WHERE ARE WE NOW? ABOUT 50 VIEWERS TO THIS POSTING, AND STILL NO ONE SMARTER HAS BEEN INSPIRED TO HELP US OUT. ________________.

'Sharpton to Imus: clean up act'

The Daily Record, Forums, News http://www.dailyrecord.com/ Posted: Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:08 am Post subject: Article: Sharpton to Imus: clean up act

It is time for Al Sharpton to butt out. Won’t this sinner ever learn? It is well past due time for Christian brothers to take our good Shepherd’s hook and pull Mr. Al Sharpton off the stage. He who can see a speck in someone else’s eye, but cannot see the log in his own eye. He; abusing the name of God, goes about judging others, for the glory of Al Sharpton.

Like I’ve written previously; Al Sharpton needs to repent and ask for God’s foregiveness, just like any other good Christian would. It is time for the un-holy one, Al Sharpton to butt out. Al Sharpton is not reverend . Who does he think he is? Judge, God, and advocate for all the people? The term ’reverend’ is used only once in our Holy Bible, referring to God Himself, and Al Sharpton is not Him.

The Word; of God, Jesus Christ, --easily found in red-letter editions of the Holy Bible New Testament, clearly refutes judging and condemnation of people by Al Sharpton. Who is Al Sharpton to judge, one who has already been forgiven by God?

Wake up, --Brothers! And God bless.

I can’t see how anyone is being denied their right to vote?

The Primary Elections are for the CMP’s; (Current Major Party’s ), in order to determine which candidates will run within a particular CMP. It is only useful for those voters who have declared membership in one of the CMP’s. It is a membership thing, to facilitate and organize the party, for the upcoming General Election.

The actual election, or the real election; the election that determines who gets elected or not, is the General Election. The General Election is for all voters, all candidates, all political party’s, even non-party’s, (not just CMP’s}.

Unlike the Primary Elections , that are held only for the CMP’s; the General Election is not restricted to which candidates citizens can vote for, political party’s or whatever. The candidate, or candidates, whom voters choose to vote for, do not even have to be published on the ballet. What is fairer than that? Who is being denied their right to vote? Bear in mind; that this is just my Opinion. A cartoonist is watching you.

I am only replying to this post, on a subject I actually know nothing about; because no one who is smart, did.
I didn’t want you to feel lonely and neglected. Everyone deserves an answer from somebody…

Make Illegal Immigrants Legal?

Mayor renews call for local immigration enforcement
Sat Aug 18, 2007 10:00 am

It is obvious that politicians really don’t know how to solve our immigration problems.

Illegals should serve and be indoctrinated towards citizenship, not be legally allowed to move in and take over our towns and country, and benefits, as non citizens; creating alien, non-English speaking, foreign towns and countries within our own borders. Americans are gradually being run out of our own country. I suggest five years of service; military or other, allowing time to learn the English language, and to go through the same indoctrination and testing that all legal immigrants had to do, in order to become U.S. citizens.

Obviously, we cannot afford to continue to harbor so many illegal aliens, of all sorts, who just run or walk across our borders, riding on our coat tails, while young Americans are fighting and being killed for our freedoms and way of life. That is an insult to not only our fighting forces today, but to all who went before. What good is it to fight in Iraq, or anywhere else for the protection of our country, if we can not, or will not, value and defend our own borders at home?

Good hearted and well intentioned immigrants would be happy to serve this country, in which they so much want to be citizens. Others, bent on thievery, corruption, destruction , and just moving onto and taking over U.S. land for their own purposes, while waving their home flags and living off our country, --are not welcome.

If you will scroll down; I have posts all over the place, always having the last word, eagerly waiting for another reply, so that I can keep the post going.

I find that it is quicker and easier than drawing daily cartoons; that the Daily Record probably won’t publish anyway. Check out my other web site: http://www.doncoleproductions.com/

For example; in the ‘Rants and Raves’ section: I was hoping that other seniors would start adding on their own ‘Senior Moments‘; then I could add another, and so on, without having to post a new topic every time I have a senior moment, --like right now:

…‘Hey! -- What has happened to all my favorite radio programs? What TV Channel did the ‘Ed Sullivan Show’ move to? Where is Jackie Gleason? And I can’t find the Foodini and Pinhead puppets anymore…’

However; I do understand misunderstandings about replying in rhmotown. The reason you don’t see my replies on the other websites , is because there is noone to reply to. I hardly ever get any responses directly to those sites. I learned real quick, --that if I start copying other people’s letters over to my own web sites, --I get in a heap of a lot of trouble, -- real fast!

Yes! --come with me to my other sites. I have cartoons there! I will respond…I am not a robot.

Jews and Christians, and the Koran.

It was said, …”Jews and Christians were never cited as being “nonbelievers.”

It is true that when I had stated ‘Difficult Passages from the Koran,’ I often interjected in parentheses, (Christians and Jews). Maybe , in some cases, the prophet only meant other tribal religions, excluding Christians and Jews, but it doesn’t appear likely.

Consider the following passages from the Koran: ( This time, I will not interject (Christians and Jews), and than maybe someone can explain to us who the prophet is really talking about.)

The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.” (The Proof 98:6-7).

Unbelievers are those who declare Allah is the Messiah, the Son of Mary.” (The Table 5:17).

Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends…whosoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number.” (The Table 5:50-51).

Make war on them until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme.” (The Spoils 8:37-41).

Those who say: ‘The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son,’ preach a monstrous falsehood‘“… (Mary 19:88).

Jesus was no more than a mortal whom we favored and made an example to the Israelites“… (Ornaments of Gold 43:1-11).

When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them.” (Repentance 9:4-7).

Rutgers player files suit against Imus

Up until now, I have had a very positive image of the Rutger’s women’s basketball team; and I had posted letters to the Daily Record, and on the World for Truth web site , to that effect. http://journals.aol.com/doncoleprod/DoesGodExist/ I believe that most people probably agreed with me:

04-14-2007 … “I am proud of the Rutgers University girls' basketball team; they really are beautiful. They stood tall and exemplify the Lord's will and love, and grace; whereas these so-called ‘Reverends’ do not.

04-17-2007 “The heroes here, are the girls themselves (not the coach, who accused Imus of destroying the entire lives of these girls, and seemingly blaming Imus for all the ills in the black community, as if he had that kind of power.) These girls showed their true beauty, by accepting Imus's sincere heartfelt apologies, and offering him forgiveness for his sins. By standing high and beautiful, as they did, above the phonies.

The fact is; that Kia Vaughn, by filing this ridicules law suit, has become guilty of “slander and defamation" of her own character, not only to herself, but to all the rest of her team mates also. The love of money is the root of all evil. Sadly, she has chosen to join the ranks of the other unforgiving opportunists, Al Sharpton and Jessie Jacxkson.

We all know the Imus story. This new lawsuit is one of the sickest!

What Are We Doing In This Life?

You ask me, "What are we all doing in this earthly life?"

Well; I personally think that this is all a big boot camp, for all of us, our earthly souls, to live out, established for molding; testing, learning, refining, and shaping of our individuality. And, it is God's hope that each of us will choose to ultimately be born again, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, for the forgiveness of our sins. That is; that we rise up in Christ, a new life, a new body, everlasting. There is no need for any wheel chairs in Heaven!

We have been individually and uniquely made; yet we are all connected together in the same heavens, created in the likeness of God; born with a free will, creativity, love, art, music, etc. Everything is connected. Life is forever. Each of us has an individual, special role here to live out for a Godly purpose. We have our own story to tell, a unique picture on life to share to others; so that in the end we have all grown together, wiser, stronger, better, because we are really all one in harmony with an everlasting, expanding creation. E=MC-squared.

Because of such; God has given each of us the time and space needed to grow, experience, and develop in a natural way; for that which we were made. Some say that the Bible says that we were created to do good works. I would say it is closer to manifesting 'love.' God is love. Good works is the fruit of a Christian's faith; we are not saved by works, but by grace through faith, lest any of us should boast. Love is the joy of loving and being loved. We are not fulfilled in being alone; that is, without love. What if we have the whole earth, but do not have love?

If each of us could stand alone, with no other needs besides ourselves, --how could we ever know about 'love;' --how could we express it to anyone else? What can you give to someone who already has everything, or has no needs, no needs for anyone else to care about ? Would we ever experience joy, if we never had a free will, or never knew hardship or tribulation? What would happen to the joy we receive in our accomplishments, of a hard day's work, or being able to give or help someone in need, or just causing someone to smile, laugh, or just feel good?

Though, I suppose that is how it will be in Heaven. Those who enter in, will have it all!

Jesus said to store up our treasures there (while we are here on earth.) How could we ever show and express our love in Heaven, if we did not express it here on earth while in this dimension? Will it not be too late to store up our treasures in Heaven, after we are already there? Love is created and expressed here on earth, in this lifetime; and then lived forever in Heaven.

That is how I see it... I hope we see each other there, and all our loved ones.

God bless,

Illegals Should be Drafted

Would not that solve most of, if not all, of our illegal immigration problems in this country, for all fair and civic minded people? I suggest five years of military service; allowing time to learn the English language, and to go through the same indoctrination and testing that all legal immigrants had to do, in order to become U.S. citizens.

Religious Freedom

Hello!? --Is anyone awake out there?
There is a war going on! People are getting killed!
Can we not see what is now happening in Europe?

Why is it such a surprise to the Daily Record that many hesitate to welcome Islamic worship and beliefs into their communities with open arms, --in light of what is going on all over the world in the name of Islam?

What does the Koran teach? Do Muslims hate Christians and Jews and all Infidels, or not? Do they want to kill all non believers in the name of Allah, and rule supreme or not? These things need to be studied out, with much concern and deliberation. Who has such time?

What if the Ku Klux Klan, or the Nazi Party wanted to take over that warehouse in Rockaway? Would it still be disappointing, to the Daily Record, “that a house of worship would evoke so much opposition to a nation that prides itself on religious freedom"?

Ok, Muhammad...

Thank you for leading us to the Muslim web site: http://www.whyislam.org/ .
There is a lot to ponder; but, so far I have yet to be enlightened. But, we will keep on studying, with an open mind, for I am a lover of truth.

I liked your smiling icon.

But; of course, I do not like what Muslims believe about Jesus (A liar and a deceiver?); but than again; one does not have to believe in the deity of Jesus Christ to be an American.

When talking about the Crusades; I wonder if it is not the Catholic Church that has a lot of responsibility to bear. (I am no expert; just a cartoonist.)
I believe that the Catholic Church was patterned after the Roman Empire, and was organized about 300 years after the early church was started in 30 AD on Pentecost; that is, the only church that is found in the Bible, New Testament, in the book of Acts. True Christians are those who follow Jesus Christ, heeding His commandments. There is no Pope, no Vatican, no Catholics, not even Protestants. There is no evidence that the apostle Peter ever assumed any such role as a Pope, or acted like one.

In future postings, I plan to continue pointing out difficult passages that I find in the Koran. Likewise, you might choose doing the same with the Bible.

Let peace, love, and truth prevail! Nothing else is working, or ever will. God bless.

A Feeding Frenzy

Ref: Our Opinion, “A Leg Up on Tuition.”

( Gasp! ) Trying to save this world from impending doom is no easy task!…

How long can this country afford the luxury of plush and absorbent colleges; $5,000,000.00 to $150,000,000.00 and up per year for TV talk show hosts; double and triple dipping government politicians; billionaire CEO’s, and such a high rate of new billionaires rising up every year, and all the like? All of this becomes ultimately, a feeding frenzy of sharks feeding off the smaller fish of the sea; that is all the rest of us.

Today, the American dream has transformed, from having a comfortable home with a little white picket fence, to everyone scrambling over one another to become billionaires. Of course: we can’t all be billionaires, so our leaders cut taxes, give everybody a raise, and print more money.

One does not have to believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ; but we would do well to pay attention to the wisdom that He has given mankind, for a life of happiness and success, and even for world peace.

Difficult Passages in the Koran

Some samples:

Miscellaneous: “We changed them (men who were wrongdoers) into detested apes…” (The Heights 7:164-166). …transforming them into apes and swine.” (The Table 5:57-61.) “He alone has knowledge of what is hidden:…He sends down guardians who walk before them and behind them, that He may know if they have delivered His messages.” (The Jinn 72:25-28).

Women: “As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” (Women 4:34). “You may put off any of your wives you please and take to your bed any of them you please. Nor is it unlawful for you to receive any of those whom you have temporarily set aside…It shall be unlawful for you to take more wives or to change your present wives for other women, though their beauty please you except where slave-girls are concerned.” (The Confederate Tribes 33:51-52.)

Islam enemy of Christianity: “The unbelievers among the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.” (The Proof 98:6-7). “Those who say: ‘The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son,’ preach a monstrous falsehood…” (Mary 19:88). “Jesus was no more than a mortal whom we favored and made an example to the Israelites…” (Gold 43:1-11). “Make war on them (Christians and Jews) until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme.” (The Spoils 8:37-41).

Islam, Christianity Compared

A sampling:

Islam:
“It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land” (Qur’an 8:67).

Christianity:
Bless those who persecute you; bless and curse not… Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men… Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 14:14, 17, 21).

Islam:
Freedom from obligation (is proclaimed) from Allah and His messenger toward those of the idolaters with whom ye made a treaty” (Qur’an 9:1).

Christianity:
Again, ye have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made in the Lord” (Matthew 5:33).

Islam:
Seek ye to guide whom Allah hath sent astray? …if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them…” (Qur’an 4:88-89).

Christianity:
“Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness lends you toward repentance?” (Romans 2:4).

Islam:
“And one who attacked you, attack him in like manner as he attacked you” (Qur’an 2:194).

Christianity:
“But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also” (Matthew 5:39).

Looking Up...

Hi Brother,

I don't believe that what we know scientifically, (and there is a lot these days), that your theory, or actual possibility, could be valid. I admire and appreciate you for the fact that you are thinking and reaching out with an open and inquisitive mind. Yes, the heavens are truly awesome! Who can not but look up and be awed on a clear and starry night. Or to just look around at all of God's creation. Some call it all nature, or Mother Nature, --I call it God! Even things I do not see with my eyes, but with my heart.

What is amazing, as we search out, is that after all these years, everything keeps pointing to the Genesis account. The Bible is amazing, and miraculous, --to this very day. Even more so! How can we explain it?

Some people seem to be afraid to think out of the box; I suppose afraid that their faith will be proved not to be justified by the facts of science. They have a false notion, that to think and question is to show lack of faith. Some preachers (not from the church of Christ, I hope), actually teach that, in order to further their own agendas. However, God and science are one in truth. God is truth --and our faith, if it is really based on truth can only be strengthened, not weakened by our thinking and searching. It would be sad, if we just loved our faith so much that we don't care that it is truth or not!

Again, John Clayton is really the one to contact for an intelligent and informed and thoughtful discussion on such subjects. http://www.doesgodexist.org/

It hurts; that so few in this country, or even the world, have yet to receive and think about so much of what John Clayton has to offer, ...over a lifetime of dealing with and considering, and researching, with an open mind and heart, as a scientist, these difficult issues. From a devout and actively pursuing atheist, to an awestruck, totally convinced, and absolutely knowing Christian, not only about the existence of God, but also that the Bible is truly God's word! John Clayton can help us all to THINK! It really is exciting to listen to his debates, take in his lectureships, and to read his materials. http://www.doesgodexist.org/

If all nations would join hands and pray together for the blessings of God, and for His guidance; and if each nation is kept from harm or pain by our loving one and only true God; than how can each nation’s territory be increased, without war or violence, or without taking any territory away from another? So, which nation will God favor?

Answer:
Oh ye of little faith! Do you not have eyes to see, nor ears that hear? Is it not written, that where two or more are gathered together in my name, that I am there also? When people; nations join hands and lands, and learn to love one another, --your territories will be greatly increased! Tell me then; where is there any nation, or person, or persons left with less than before?

Nations; hear the gospel and be baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ. Eat from the bread of life, His body, and drink living water from His cup; His blood. Jesus atoned for the sins of men, and sealed the New Testament in His blood for our sake. Jesus, is the Christ, son of man, son of God, God’s Word incarnate. If ye love not one another, even your own enemies, or those who would do harm against you, --than you know not my Lord, the only one and true God, Father of us all…

A Civil Rights Issue?

Golly! --Why do so many Americans discriminate against Muslims in America, whose holy book is the Koran?

So what, if Jews and Christians are the hated enemy of Muslims according to the Koran?

Following, are a few samplings from the Koran:

“Unbelievers are those who declare Allah is the Messiah, the Son of Mary.” (The Table 5:17 )

“The unbelievers among the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.” ( The Proof 98: 6-7 )

“Make war on them (Christians and Jews) until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme.” (The Spoils 8:37-41).

“When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters (Christians and Jews) wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them.” (Repentance 9:4-7).

“Believers, make war on the infidels (Christians and Jews) who dwell around you.” (Repentance 9:122-125 ).

“Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends…whosoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number.” ( The Table 5:50-51 )

“Make war…” (Repentance 9:14 )

“If any one thinks that Allah will not give victory to His apostle in this world and in the world to come, let him tie a rope to the ceiling of his house and hang himself.” ( Pilgrimage 22:11-16 ).

“Fighting is obligatory for you,” (The Cow 2:216 ).

Truth Matters

Below, is just a small sampling of the many scientific inaccuracies of the Koran:

The Women 4:23 (Al-Nisa) “Nursing passes on genetic traits from mother to child.” However, the factual truth is that no genetic traits are transmitted by nursing.

Al-Nahl 16:69 (Sura of the Bee) “Honey comes out of a bee’s abdomen and heals men.”
The factual truth is honey is not produced in a bee’s abdomen.

The Women 4:23 (Al-Nisa), The Heights 7:172 (Al-Araf) “Semen comes from the back or kidney area, not from the testicles.”
The fact is that semen comes from the testicles.

The Prophets 21:31, The Bee 16:15, Lugman 31:10, The News 78:6-8, The Overwhelming 88:17, 19 “God threw down mountains like tent pegs to keep the earth from shaking.”
The factual truth is mountains do not keep the earth from shaking and are not in any way like tent pegs.

Al-Anam 6:38 (Sura of the Cattle) “All animals and all things that fly form communities like man.”
The fact is that many forms of life do not live in communities.

The Ant 27:15-44 (Al-Naml) “Solomon talked with ants, birds, and giants” (not presented as a miracle or a fable.)
The factual truth is that this kind of communication does not happen.

Which is right?

Drive the speed limit, or go with the flow of traffic?

Each way, it is dangerous and scary!

The Joy of Giving is Heaven

We all know the feeling we get, when we are able to love, to give to someone or entity in need.

Thank God that we do not stand alone. How lonely that would be. None to care for, none to love. In a nutshell, ( I am the nut) you could say that this is about the Joy of Giving!

A comedian, or cartoonist, or writer, or musician, or whatever, experiences the ecstasy of being able to make someone else, or others laugh, to be entertained, to be helped, or provided for, to feel loved, to be happy, whatever. An evangelist experiences the thrill of having led a soul to baptism, to Jesus Christ. To be able to have a good and eternal effect on others. To be influential in saving another person’s life! Therein is heavenly joy.

Now, you get the idea…Yes. We will be doing things in Heaven, but I don’t think that it will be work. It will be doing what gives us this same kind of joy and pleasure, and that is being one in the Lord.

The things we love to do, if we didn’t have to worry about making a living, saving or maintaining the flesh, etc. To be free of all that, not only of sin, but also of things like time and gravity. To be forever and personally, without effort or resistance, any more testing , --but then to be further along, to the mysteries abound. The thrill of graduation! The race is won! What joy can top that? Where will God take us ? The things he has in store! The treasures that we have stored up in Heaven! How much more and greater things will we be able to do? (Remember, that we are told that there is much more out there, but this is as much as we can handle for now; although at this time He has given us everything that we need to know for life and godliness.)

And time and providence will never run out of God’s goodness and love. The joy comes not inside the sacrifice itself, but in the love act of the giver, out of our blessings in God. The joy to Jesus was not in His having to take the cup, (he prayed that it might be taken from him,) but the joy through his ultimate expression of His love for us from His giving, and obeying the Father, in our behalf.

He did freely drink. He gave. He gave up his entire body. He taught us. He suffered for us. He led the way, and sealed us for eternity in His love., in the New Testament, given to us. He sent, delivered, gave us his Spirit. That was/is God’s pleasure and joy.

God’s promises, between He and man. Think of the joy of being able to save someone’s life, to share eternal good and happiness, everlasting, to be a vital and unique part of God himself, the source of love and everything good.

In the body; the bride of Christ. Two become one = three. Completeness. It is done. It was/is sealed at the cross.

There is a time, at night, when it is comfortable to rest and to sleep. Then our bodies wake up to a new morning, and it is no longer comfortable to just lie there in bed. Now it is more comfortable to rise and move about doing the things we need to do to sustain our lives. To those who are in the Lord, no matter what our circumstances are in this life; it is exciting to see what this new day has in store. What new things will we contend with, and what will we learn new from this day? He is molding us and using us, and counting on us for things we are aware, and also for things farther along we know not yet. Where will the Lord lead us today? Or tomorrow? He takes our hand. He enlarges our territory. He protects us from harm and pain. It is an exciting journey. A great adventure! Better than the best of movies, video games, I-pods, and HD TV.

Love is what survives in Heaven. Jesus said, to store our treasures there.

Food For the Nations

From out of the blue, incongruously buried within a long list of biblical genealogies, this prayer of Jabez can be found. ( 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 )

This is a prayer for self; but it can also work for any one, and for any or all nations.

“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain." Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.” ( 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 )

Jabez Prayer Warriors pray for a day when all the nations of this world might join hands together to pray and receive God’s blessings, enlargements of their territories, God’s guidance, and protection from harm so that they will be free from pain.

Truth and State

…Now, Look Here!

Good questions. Weak answers.

Those tough and serious questions, being directed to the presidential candidates, have already been answered perfectly for us by Jesus Christ, such as in his Sermon on the Mt.
How bad does our country and our world have to get, before we will have the eyes to see, and ears that hear?

The problem is not about separation of church and state; but in our apathetic notion about truth and state.

We skirt around truth issues for numerous reasons; I can’t think of any good ones. One reason, is that we don’t want to offend anyone. So, in the name of “religion” we cut off the hand that feeds us.

We cut off the hands of He who told us, and showed us, how to love one another, how to be happy and fruitful, how to live together in peace and harmony on earth, as it is in Heaven.

Now, after listening to our politicians, --who shall will we vote for?

I vote for my savior, Jesus Christ. He can save the world!

In comparison, all the rest is just lip service, manipulation and nonsense.

Dancing With the Lord!

Brother,

As I told you in worship services this morning; you delivered one of the best sermon's this morning that I have ever heard. I have a few years up on you, and I say Amen, from my own experiences and studies. All that you preached was absolutely true. You have a good grasp on those scriptures. And I must say, that you deliver them with tremendous force and sincerity. I love to hear my brothers in Christ preaching from their hearts, and accurately in God's word. We also appreciate all the "little" things that you do for us behind the scenes. I don't know how you manage it all. Besides delivering an excellent sermon this morning; you freed up our professional preacher and evangelist, to help enlarge our territory even more.

When it comes to the Jabez prayer; my prayers are turning more and more to, "Thank you Lords." It is hard to ask God for these things, while we can see with our own eyes and ears that He is is already answering them. And it's not even 40 days yet! We might turn more of our requests now over to Thank you's and how much we look forward and request continuation of His taking our hand, not only in keeping us from harm, and freeing us from pain, --but for dancing with us!

The Right Body Armor

When all else fails, --read the manual!

Are you hiding?
Here they come; Christian soldiers rising!
Lights in the night; overcoming darkness.
Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war.

Swinging swords of the Spirit,
Clad with helmets of salvation,
Standing firm with shields of faith.
Wearing breast plates made of righteousness,
Girded waist’s with truth.
Feet fitted for readiness,
To bring God’s Gospel to this world,
-- For peace!

Force Love?

Force anyone to love, or to believe in something? I think not! Is that possible? However, we do have the power to offer, educate and influence. That is how Jesus worked/works.

We can lead a horse to water, but we cannot make it drink. But, people who own horses say that the horses do drink when they are led to good water. Sometimes, in this life, bad water is all people have to drink. We need to be there for them.

We need to love our neighbors, each other, and all mankind; to be good stewards, as our Saviour would have it. Not return evil for evil, as is the nature of the unsaved, the natural man.

Jesus Christ never forced anyone to follow Him; --but He led/leads the way! Man is born with a free will. We are offered the good water of everlasting life, everlasting happiness and fulfillment, to live in the presence and providence of the only one and true God. Yesterday, today and forever. That which cannot wither away, nor rust decay.

Love begets love; as likewise, hate begets hate. Man will die by the sword, or live by the cross.
Truth begets truth, as deception begets deception.
We become, and are, that which we accept and hold dear; and that of which we choose to eat, and decide to drink. Love does not force anything down someones throat, although hate might.

So, what do/will we eat and drink? Is it healthy or is it really poison to our soul? Are we not made with the inherent ability to recognize, and sort out, the good from the bad? What do we choose?

And so our prayer rises up, that the Muslim terrorist prisoners be led to living waters, and be saved. For how can they ever know, if there is none to teach them?

Turn Terrorist Prisoners over to the Vatican?

Oh-No! --not the Vatican!

Isn't that what caused so much of the trouble in the first place?

No, I am talking about Christ's true church of the Bible New Testament, started on Pentacost, 30 A.D. (See the book of Acts.)

There is no Pope there. There is no Vatican there. There is no record of the apostle Peter ever assuming any such role as a Pope. Only the words of Jesus Christ have the power that can warm the hearts of Muslim terrorist prisoners.

Don Cole

What to do with Terrorist Prisoners

My Answer to 'wildweasel':

"You realize that Muslim countries imprison and kill Christians - or any other non muslims - for preaching and practicing other religions in their lands?..."

Maybe I am thinking about a different letter (senior moment)...but I thought we were talking about the torturing, or not torturing, of terrorist prisoners. But, it doesn't matter:

The scenario is that If we already have them in our clutches, thinking whether we could save lives by torturing them or not. I say it would be more effective, ...more importantly, being right with God, a show of American principles, and an example to the entire world of who the real one true God is, and in obedience to the Christian commission, --that is; to teach those terrorists the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (See the last chapter of the Bible's book of Matthew.)

Hearing the words of Jesus Christ, such as the Bible's New Testament Sermon on the Mt., ought to melt any terrorist's heart.

Who can be against what Christ taught, for the love of God for all of mankind?

God loves us all, --even our enemies, and we are commanded by Jesus Christ, son of God, son of man, to do likewise.

What is it Like in Heaven?

To the Preacher,

I want to send my morning thoughts, before I ‘get-up’ and maybe lose them.

This is about our Wed. Night topic, about what it will be like in Heaven. It is hard to describe these things, by waving my hand in class, in our study. So, here it is here, now while fresh in my head.
This includes also in having to do with what is probably one of the hardest subjects to preach about, to the congregation, for a preacher to deliver. That is, the sermon about ‘Giving.’

We all know the feeling we get, when we are able to love, to give to someone or entity in need. Thank God that we do not stand alone. How lonely that would be. None to care for, none to love. In a nutshell, ( I am the nut) you could say that this is about the Joy of Giving!

Torturing Terrorist Prisoners

Letter: "Do not print lies from readers."

Letter: Ref: 7-23-07 Daily Record, “Do not print lies from readers.”

Has the letter writer ever been wrong about anything? If so; under his own standards, doesn’t that make him a liar too?

The many anti-Christian statements quoted to be from our Founding Fathers, are all news to me! Ben Franklin, James Madison, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington were all against Christianity? Again; that is all news to me!

I, along with a lot of others, are very interested in the truth; but with no more to go on than those few quotes from who knows where, we can only assume that they were extracted, and being used, out of context. I would be interested to know where those statements quoted were found, and how we can fit them in with all of the other things that we know that our Founding Fathers said and did. And for which they stood, because those statements appear contradictive to our very history.

We all need to share our experiences and knowledge; that we may live and grow in truth. None of us can stand alone, not even the strongest nation. Truth and love for one another in this world is mankind's only hope and salvation. Those who seek truth will find it.

(Sadly; other hearts are hardened. To them all is foolishness. They have neither eyes to see, nor ears to hear.)

Letter: "They must be totally eradicated."

Instead of saying that terrorists "must be totally eradicated." I say that they should be totally educated.

Reading the words of Jesus Christ, shown in red letter editions of the Bible, such as on the Sermon on the Mt., would be a great place to start! Who could be against such things that are expressed here, for the love of all mankind. The power of the words shown there are the only thing that could ever lead to world peace, and any hope for the human race.

Car Crash Scenario

Letter To the Editor:

Ref: 7/17 Front page news article, “Morristown man dies in SUV crash,”
relating the unsolved mystery of why did the SUV driver drive off the road at 6:39 am
and crash into the backend of a parked tractor-trailer. The state police Fatal Accident Unit, the state police Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the state police Incident Command Unit were all called in.

I wasn’t there, and I am not psychic, but I know how it happened! This isn’t the first time that the Daily record has published such a scenario, and I am surprised that those professional units don’t seem to be aware of the hazard, because it is not an uncommon occurrence on our roadways.

The SUV driver is a little tired, but he figures he can make it home ok, late at night or early morning, hardly any traffic, lots of roadway, lots of lanes. He is driving the speed
limit, staying in the right lane, obeying all the laws, driving safely. Then here comes the tractor-trailer, roaring up just inches behind him and then passing. Then up ahead, the tractor-trailer is slowing down, for whatever reason. Maybe it is going up a hill. So, the SUV overtakes and passes the tractor-trailer. This scenario repeats itself, over and over again. So, now the SUV gets ’smart’ and decides to just follow a ways behind the tractor-trailer, following his tail lights. The tractor-trailer goes around a curve, goes off on the side of the road and stops, with all of his running lights still on. Now here comes the SUV around the curve, still following the tail lights of the tractor-trailer. He thinks that the tractor-trailer is on a new right lane, and he just wants to follow the tractor-trailer, not pass it. So, even though his lane is totally clear, and there are no other cars on the road, --he pulls right in behind the (parked) tractor-trailer, and crashes into it.
That is how it happened. It took me 331 words, instead of the maximum 250 allowed, but maybe the Daily Record will make an exception in this case.

American Muslims?

To the Editor:
Ref: Editorial Article, 7/13/07 “Anti-U.S. label is unfair to Muslims,“ by Aref Assaf, president of the American-Arab forum.
“Whether many hate mongers like it or not, Muslims are here, and they are praying and congregating. They are also your friends, teachers, hospital doctors, and quite possibly, your neighbors…”
Yes. This is a very scary situation. Just look at what is happening today in Europe.
Will you please tell us what the Muslims in this free country of ours are congregating about, who are they praying to, and what do they believe in, and what is their goal?
What is it that makes a good Muslim? If they are not wolves in sheep’s clothing, than what are they?
How more foolish can people get, than to look to the anti-Christ for the blessings of God.
We are not talking about any kind of racial or cultural discrimination here; we are talking about two belief systems that contradict one another. One is love, and the other is hate, and it is not the American belief system that hates the blessings and freedoms we share.
How can there be any such thing as an “American Muslim”? --unless you mean Muslims living in America, pretending to be Americans. And what is that all about anyway?
Tell us, Mr.Assaf --just what do Muslims believe? Is it possible to be an American and a Muslim too? Maybe you will write a new article and touch on these things. We are listening. God bless!

LAUS DEO

With all the uproar about removing the ten commandments, etc. ... This is worth a moment or two of ones time.

( One detail that is not mentioned, in DC, is that there can never be a building of greater height than the Washington Monument. )

On the aluminum cap, atop the Washington Monument in Washington, DC, are displayed two words: Laus Deo. No one can see these words. In fact, most visitors to the monument are totally unaware they are even there and for that matter, probably couldn't care less. But, once you know Laus Deo's history, you will want to share this with everyone you know.

These words have been there for many years; they are 555 feet, 5.125 inches high, perched atop the monument, facing skyward to the Father of our nation, overlooking the 69 square miles which comprise the District of Columbia, capital of the United States of America. Laus Deo! Two seemingly insignificant, un-noticed words. Out of sight and, one might think, out of mind, but very meaningfully placed at the highest point over what is the most powerful city in the most successful nation in the world.

So, what do those two words, in Latin, composed of just four syllables and only seven letters, possibly mean? Very simply, they say "Praise be to God!"

Though construction of this giant obelisk began in 1848, when James Polk was President of the United States, it was not until 1888 that the monument was inaugurated and opened to the public. It took twenty five years to finally cap the memorial with a tribute to the Father of our nation, Laus Deo ............."Praise be to God! "

From atop this magnificent granite and marble structure, visitors may take in the beautiful panoramic view of the city with its division into four major segments. From that vantage point, one can also easily see the original plan of the designer, Pierre Charles l'Enfant... --a perfect cross imposed upon the landscape, with the White House to the north. The Jefferson Memorial is to the south, the Capitol to the east and the Lincoln Memorial to the west.

A cross you ask? Why a cross? What about separation of church and state? Yes, a cross; separation of church and state was not, is not, in the Constitution. Praise be to God!

Within the monument itself are 898 steps and 50 landings. As one climbs the steps and pauses at the landings the memorial stones share a message. On the 12th Landing is a prayer offered by the City of Baltimore; on the 20th is a memorial presented by some Chinese Christians; on the 24th a presentation made by Sunday School children from New York and Philadelphia quoting Proverbs 10:7, Luke 18:16 and Proverbs 22:6. Praise be to God!

When the cornerstone of the Washington Monument was laid on July 4th, 1848 deposited within it were many items including the Holy Bible presented by the Bible Society. Praise be to God!

Such was the discipline, the moral direction, and the spiritual mood given by the founder and first President of our unique democracy, "One Nation, Under God."

Washington's prayer for America:

"Almighty God; We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection; that Thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

Laus Deo!

When one stops to observe the inscriptions found in public places all over our nation's capitol, he or she will easily find the signature of God, as it is unmistakably inscribed everywhere you look. You may forget the width and height of "Laus Deo", its location, or the architects but no one who reads this will be able to forget its meaning, or these words: "Unless the Lord builds the house its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain." (Psalm 127: 1).

A War On In Heavenly Places.

Satan doesn't bother messing with some of those mega churches, or strange churches far off in left fields somewhere; --because he has them right where he wants them! ( You can fill in between the lines. )

Rather, the anti-Christ pounces on those who can make a difference in this world. Yes; there is a war going on in heavenly places, and Satan knows who his enemies are.

The more effective we become delivering the good news of Christ, the harder the evil one will fight to subdue. Just look at the tribulations of Jesus Christ on earth, and to Job, and to the apostles. It is no different today. That is why Jesus said to follow Him, is to carry our cross daily. He told us what to expect, and how and why to fight the good fight. His is not the kingdom of this world.

In order for there to be love; there must be a way to be able to express it. We have to be able to choose not to love. What makes anything anything, is its relativity to something else. So, there has to be something else.

On Earth, this world of ours is huge. But, from the moon, an astronaut was able to cover the whole earth with just his thumb! All is relative, as is our conception of time, and space, and of what knowledge we have in our own environment. How much does an ant know about the universe we know? What do dogs know about color, if their whole world is seen in black and white? How do we compare to blood hounds with our limited noses? How come we can only see the wave lengths from 400 to 700 millimicrons with our human eyes? Yet, we think we are so smart, trying to equate ourselves to God Himself and all creation. All is vanity. We have created nothing. What we do is discover and learn to use in creative ways what God has already created. All of nature is God's handiwork, and we grow and learn by exploring it. How do birds fly? How do bats find their way around with their eyes covered? How do caterpillars turn into butterflies?
Who could ever be against what Christ taught us, such as in the sermon on the mount? Is there not all the logic and wisdom therein, the reason and love? Isn't that what everyone wants? (Most of us look for love and happiness in the wrong things, persons, or places.) Is not His Word the best self-help book ever taught or written? Who has ever found a better way, withstanding the test of time? Where did all the scientific knowledge come from, that we find written in the Bible, so far ahead of its time? Where are all the errors, that we would expect to find in books written by men?

Is Jesus Christ not honestly the true breath of life? --the living word, God's son, both son of God, and son of man? Didn't Jesus know what He was talking about? Was Jesus a liar and a deceiver? Is Jesus the manifestation of evil? Or is He the manifestation of good? Jesus is the power, and the glory, and our very salvation. He is our solutions, our answers to it all, --our joy in, and to the world! We can trust in Him, over ourselves, or anyone or anything else. He carries our burdens when we are heavy laden. He provides us hope and understanding. He is with us everywhere. God is our strength.

Is not Jesus, the Light, clear as day? Does He not shine in the darkness, exposing
the evils hidden there? Does He not light up our lives, and provide us with the love of God? Did He not make us in His own image? If we evolved from goo to us, by way of the zoo, than where did the goo come from, and who or what gave us life? When we go back in time to the Big Bang! --What is it that banged, and where did it come from? If we take all the elements of the universe and heavens and jumble them around in a big bag forever; how could they ever turn into all that we have, are, and know, without any superior design or intelligence of any kind? What does "science" say about that? Modern science proves to us, that there was a beginning; and if there was a beginning, than what or who was the source?

Christians awake! We are the salt of the earth. We have the Light, --not to be hid under a bushel basket! Christian soldiers, sing and be happy, donning the armor of Christ, standing firm and strong and marching onward.

...for the love of God and all mankind! Peace and love, on earth as it is in Heaven! ... And in heavenly mansions forevermore! Glory be to Jesus in the highest!

Amen
