Game of Monopoly, state of our economy

The game of Monopoly has an END, but LIFE in Jesus Christ is forever.

All games come to an end. Winner takes all, and the game is over, --the END.

Without "Caps," or what I have been calling for, --way back when,-- "book-ends," --"Book-end Economics," which is the only thing that makes any sense to me. Yet, I claim to be no expert.

After debating for a long time with a couple of real experts on the Daily Record pages, one of these persons suddenly and totally surprised me by replying, "Don, you are right! --now if you could only convince all the people and politicians."

There is nothing wrong with capitalism --if only we can learn to adjust and control the span between the rich and the poor, in tune with our economy. To do otherwise, is to do no more than play a game of Monopoly. Sooner or later, someone ends up with all of the property and hotels, and then the game is OVER. The same principle goes for all of the countries of the world. Whoever has all the property and power in this world when we all die, --WINS!

Now, am I really that smart? I don't think so. What, then is the source of this rational and hidden wisdom that has entered my thoughts? Is it the Word of God? You tell me: Jesus said: "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3). It's really very simple. --dc

People Bashing

People Bashing
Posted 1/24/2009 1:48 PM EST on dailyrecord.com
Why are people so compelled to bash one another in order to make their points? I cringe whenever I hear anyone bashed, --especially an eight year ran president of the United States.
I suppose I am more sensitive than most. I.e.: I was standing just a few feet away from President Kennedy just a week before he was shot. We can all remember where we were when we heard the news. My own recollection, was hearing one of my cohorts (we were at work at NASA, Cape Canaveral), --who declared “It’s about time somebody got him!” This person said this, because he did not agree with all of president Kennedy’s politics at the time. I was flabbergasted by such an ugly reaction to this news flash that our president of the United States had just been assassinated, --regardless if we agree with his politics or not!
When we bash each other, and show such disrespect even to our own presidents, --we are also undermining our own selves and country in the process. I love to debate…but it usually takes a long while to get past all the disrespect, name calling, shouting, and personal bashing. We can and do all learn from one another. We do not always have to agree with one another. --dc

even more, 'There's two guys in a tree...'

OK, …Mr. Harris,

I think that I sort of understand now the point that you have been making all along. I wonder if all those other readers who have come to this posting are as slow as I am; or are they all laughing at seeing the not-so-smart ‘Answer Man’ sweat?

So, you contend that the solution for our not-so-perfect-political-system, is to hold double campaigns; one for parties…I’m all for parties… and another one for candidates. Wow! --This seems like a great windfall for the already wind felled media advertising revenues. Can we afford this?

I was going to ask if you owned a lot of stock in the media; but I can see by your other two campaigns, the seriousness that you have for these issues. Thank God, somebody is watching out for us.

Besides calling for Separate voting for parties and candidates; you are also advocating Instant campaign finance reform, and Political contribution vouchers. I can see that you are way ahead of me, on these important issues.

I am still working on Walt Disney? --or Warner Brothers?

…coming through the fog; I sense that I am swooping a little closer to the target; but my mind still does not fully comprehend this issue, in order for me to come up with an intelligent answer based on a full understanding of what Mr. Harris is explaining, and is so desperately seeking an answer to.

After much brain straining on my part, and being transfixed to this particular post, reading it over and over and over again; I hate to admit it, but I still don’t quite get it. It is the same kind of feeling that I experience, when trying to fill out my income tax forms.

I think Mr. Harris has a valid point, and we should all take heed! --I just don’t know what it is.

Now; I am curious also. Is there really an injustice going on here that should be corrected? So, please; --somebody who is smart help me out here ______.

Cartoon Class Characters

It is not unusual for parents and educators to send their special needs kids to "cartoon class" or to "cartoon school." Sometimes, they do not disclose ahead of time, that the child has problems or special needs.

There are those who will send their kids to a full time, three year art school, just because they don't know what else to do with them. ( I used to be both student, and house parent, then Instructor, at the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Arts, here at Dover, NJ ) I discovered then, as a house parent, that some of the cartoon students really wanted to be rock stars or musicians, but that their parents had refused to send them to music school. After school, they preferred to practice music than to work on their art assignments.

Than; of course, there were those students who worked hard, applied themselves; were serious about their art careers; graduated, and went on to excel and accomplish great things.

"Why didn't God create light first, so He could see what He was doing?"

Such problems as this arise when persons do not understand the true nature of God.

This certainly is an interesting subject.
God is not an old man in the sky, nor limited to our own dimension and physical limitations.

The Bible, and history, teaches us God's nature, and the world would do well to love and take heed.

Hope for the Nations!

HOPE for THE NATIONS! To the United Nations: http://www.un.org

Truth and Love has instructed us : "Go and make disciples of all nations!..." That is, disciples of truth and love, not hate and suicide bombers.

A world that seeks is a world that finds, the prince of peace.

Peace on earth as it is in heaven...
