“In the general election, you can vote for a candidate for president a candidate for the Senate and a candidate for the House. For the sake of argument let's say you wanted to vote for a Democrat for president, a Republican for the Senate and a Green or Libertarian candidate for the House.”

‘What if you could only cast one vote that elected only three candidates from the same party ? ’ ONE VOTE ELECTS THREE CANDIDATES? BUT, IN REALITY, --ONE VOTE IS A VOTE FOR ONE CANDIDATE.

‘Wouldn't you say these are three separate issues and you should be allowed to cast three separate votes on these issues?’ YES, THESE WOULD BE THREE SEPARATE ISSUES, IF ONE VOTE WAS A VOTE FOR THREE CANDIDATES, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

‘The vote that is cast to determine the status of a party in the current election is cast in the previous general election.’ NOW, I AM REALLY CONFUSED. WHAT ELECTION IS THE ‘CURRENT ELECTION’? WHEN DO WE EVER VOTE TO ‘DETERMINE THE STATUS OF A PARTY’? I HAVE NEVER VOTED TO DETERMINE THE STATUS OF A PARTY. THE CANDIDATE, HIM or HERSELF, DECIDES WHAT PARTY HE IS GOING TO RUN IN, IF ANY PARTY AT ALL. WHEN IT COMES TO THE PRIMARY ELECTIONS, WHICH IS ACTUALLY TWO DIFFERENT ELECTIONS IN ONE, I MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE PRIMARY PARTY ELECTION THAT I AM VOTING IN. IT WOULD BE WRONG TO VOTE IN BOTH ELECTIONS IN THE PRIMARIES, BECAUSE A PERSON COULD VOTE IN THE WEAKEST CANDIDATE IN THE OPPOSING PARTY, IN ORDER TO LESSEN THE COMPETITION TO HIS OWN PARTY. IF A PERSON IS NOT A REGISTERED MEMBER OF EITHER PARTY, THAN HE DOESN’T VOTE IN THE PRIMARY ELECTIONS.

I CAN EXCHANGE ‘CURRENT’ FOR PRIMARY ELECTION, OR GENERAL ELECTION, --BUT EITHER WAY, IT STILL MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. YOU ARE SAYING THAT IN THE PREVIOUS GENERAL ELECTION, YOU WERE CASTING A VOTE THAT WAS USED TO DETERMINE THE PARTY IN THE CURRENT ELECTION. I DON’T GET IT… AGAIN, BOTH YOU AND THE CANDIDATES DECIDE YOUR OWN PARTYS, AND EITHER ONE OF YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR PARTY, AFTER THE PREVIOUS GENERAL ELECTION AND BEFORE THE CURRENT ELECTION. AND IN THE GENERAL ELECTION, PARTYS DON’T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE, BECAUSE YOU CAN VOTE FOR ANY CANDIDATE, ANY PARTY. HOWEVER, SOME VOTERS DO CHOOSE TO VOTE A STRAIGHT PARTY TICKET IN THE GENERAL ELECTION, AND YOU COULD SAY THAT THEY ARE VOTING THEIR PARTY IN, DURING THE CURRENT (NOT FUTURE) GENERAL ELECTION.

SO, WHERE ARE WE NOW? ABOUT 50 VIEWERS TO THIS POSTING, AND STILL NO ONE SMARTER HAS BEEN INSPIRED TO HELP US OUT. ________________.

I can’t see how anyone is being denied their right to vote?

The Primary Elections are for the CMP’s; (Current Major Party’s ), in order to determine which candidates will run within a particular CMP. It is only useful for those voters who have declared membership in one of the CMP’s. It is a membership thing, to facilitate and organize the party, for the upcoming General Election.

The actual election, or the real election; the election that determines who gets elected or not, is the General Election. The General Election is for all voters, all candidates, all political party’s, even non-party’s, (not just CMP’s}.

Unlike the Primary Elections , that are held only for the CMP’s; the General Election is not restricted to which candidates citizens can vote for, political party’s or whatever. The candidate, or candidates, whom voters choose to vote for, do not even have to be published on the ballet. What is fairer than that? Who is being denied their right to vote? Bear in mind; that this is just my Opinion. A cartoonist is watching you.

I am only replying to this post, on a subject I actually know nothing about; because no one who is smart, did.
I didn’t want you to feel lonely and neglected. Everyone deserves an answer from somebody…
