Jesus Christ --the best stimulus package

Hi _______, I realize that I wasn’t quite fair in response to what you were actually writing about, that is, about an alternative method to the stimulus package, which is already ongoing. I just had to get my two cents in, to remind people that the stimulus bailouts are not a cure for our economic woes, lest they should forget. It is more like pouring gas into a leaking gas tank, long enough to get to the nearest repair shop. I think the underlying problem has been building up, and began way back with the ‘me-myself-and-I generation‘, free and open sex, hippies and drugs, and taking God out of our schools. Greed and Godlessness has caught up with us. But we want to blame it all on George W. Bush. If only it were that simple. In reality, we are reaping what we have sown, as a people and a country. However; I do feel optimistic in that I think many people are starting now to look around and ask more questions, discuss and value truth and the meaning of life itself. For this country, and all the countries of the world, it is all about values, and respect for human life, loving (or hating?) one another. There is one person on earth who gave the world the perfect plan for world peace, --and that man was Jesus Christ. Believe in Him or not, but the power, and the glory, is the Word of God for all mankind. Who cannot see the authority and the divine wisdom? Who has ever come up with a better way, or higher wisdom? Who has delivered us a better book than Jesus? What is the alternative? What has made our country great, even in spite of our shortcomings? Who has loved God more? God is love, God is truth and the only hope for the world. --dc

People Bashing

People Bashing
Posted 1/24/2009 1:48 PM EST on dailyrecord.com
Why are people so compelled to bash one another in order to make their points? I cringe whenever I hear anyone bashed, --especially an eight year ran president of the United States.
I suppose I am more sensitive than most. I.e.: I was standing just a few feet away from President Kennedy just a week before he was shot. We can all remember where we were when we heard the news. My own recollection, was hearing one of my cohorts (we were at work at NASA, Cape Canaveral), --who declared “It’s about time somebody got him!” This person said this, because he did not agree with all of president Kennedy’s politics at the time. I was flabbergasted by such an ugly reaction to this news flash that our president of the United States had just been assassinated, --regardless if we agree with his politics or not!
When we bash each other, and show such disrespect even to our own presidents, --we are also undermining our own selves and country in the process. I love to debate…but it usually takes a long while to get past all the disrespect, name calling, shouting, and personal bashing. We can and do all learn from one another. We do not always have to agree with one another. --dc

Was John Adams a Christian?

Yedda – People. Sharing. Knowledge.Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?

This just caught my eye, as I was setting out to get to your "Mary touching Jesus" issue. (PS Shouldn't we be changing 'Topics'? --we are far from the Belly Button question, and it easy to get 'lost' when multiple issues are all over the place in the same thread.)

You quote John Adams: "The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity. Nowhere in the Gospels do we find a precept for Creeds, Confessions, Oaths, Doctrines, and whole carloads of other foolish trumpery that we find in Christianity." John Adams was absolutely right here. I am a Christian, and I agree with his statement wholeheartedly! This just shows me that he really must have been a Christian. Notice, he said "Nowhere in the Gospels do we find..." He was defending true Christianity! Creeds, Confessions, Oaths, Doctrines, and whole carloads of other foolish trumpery is not found in Christ's church, started on Pentacost, 33 AD, in Jerusalem. The Catholic Church was started over 300 years later, patterned after the Roman Empire. Protestantism and denominationalism, the 'Apostles Creed' and the like are not scriptural, and are not the true church of Christ, which we find starting in the book of Acts. Yes! it seems, at least by what you show here, that John Adams was indeed a Christian, but he was offended by what was going on in the name of Christianity, not Christianity itself. --dc

A shoot-out at O.K. Corral?

Sim, These postings on Yedda can be overwhelming. Some are short and easy, but yours come to me like shot gun blasts, all over the place. I suppose when it comes to you, 'Sim,' I need to limit myself to ONE answer a day. You can name your topic, ONE at a time, or I will keep on resorting to picking out your issues randomly. Often, I will start at the top, and work my way down. Other times, I will jump around, if the answer is easy and short. But, the problem is, that you just keep on blasting and blasting away, before I even have time to answer your prior issues. Bear in mind, that it is a lot easier to blast out whatever, than it is to be thoughtful and give good and rational answers. If this is just a shooting match at O.K. Corral, rather than a respectful exchange of thoughts and information, than it is a waste of my time. I am not concerned about WHO is RIGHT; but about WHAT is right. I am a cartoonist, a people watcher, --and especiially an advocate for truth, wherever I find it. We can learn from one another, and anyone else who might join in with information and/or thoughts that have a foundation and substance. The more we know, the better we are able to THINK.

About this "Mary touched Jesus" issue. Would you please state the issue here for me, including all Bible references? I would be happy to give you my knowledge and thoughts on this issue. --dc

Sim, What makes it very difficult to get anywhere with you, is that you ramble on and on and on... Every issue that you bring up here, I would enjoy answering, --and I am trying my best to do so. Do you REALLY want good answers? If so, could you please post ONE issue at a time, in that I might be able to give you thoughtful, rational evidences and answers?

About believers of the Qu'ran; this 'holy' book, of the Muslim faith, does not in any way stand up to rational standards that I have been putting forth about Bible validity for being the true Word of God. This also applys to other religions and faiths. Just what DO you believe anyway? Do you believe in God? Just how much information do you think I can cram into a single post anyway?) --dc

Spirits and Superstitions

Check out this interesting answer on Yedda

Bush'>http://yedda.com/questions/Bush_Religion_President_George_W_5188167115873/answer5041070717382">Bush and Religion

To Craig from Michigan,

Spirits and superstitions won't help make life better on this planet, but belief in truth will. Even if you don't believe that Jesus Christ is/was who he said he was/is, and was instead a liar and deceiver, --one would have to be very blind to deny that what Jesus taught would not make life better on this planet.

Our best science today points to Genesis 1. The Bible is completely checkable and stands the test of time; whereas, other religions and their 'holy' books do not. Only God could predict the future with all accuracy, and have such perfect knowledge beyond the times the scriptures were written. I would be happy to post many evidences and examples of this, if you would like. --dc
