White House Beer Summit

White House Beer Summit Posted July 30, 2009; to CNN NewsRoom, by doncolecartoons Categories: Racism, Truth, Uncategorized

It would improve race relations if Prof. Gates would admit his mistake.
Sgt. Crowley should not back down; if he was just doing his job.

However, this is a good opportunity to explain why the police must follow procedures, and the good reasons why these procedures exist.

We should be moving forward, not dwelling in the past. Creating racial issues in every situation, where none exists is not putting our country first. –dc

The professor, the police officer, and Obama

The professor, the police officer, and ObamaPosted July 30, 2009 by doncolecartoonsCategories: News, Racism, Truth, Uncategorized Tags: ,

This is a no-brainer. The professor was clearly way out of line, and the police officer was doing his job. It is as simple as that.

Put yourself in the same situation: You have locked yourself out of your house, and you and another person are trying to break into the front door. A neighbor sees this and calls 911 to report a suspected burglery in progress. After you have entered your home, the police arrive. Would you not be a bit embarrassed to have caused a stir, and be only ready and willing to apologize and quickly answer questions in order to straighten out the problem? Wouldn’t you be thankful that your house and interests are being protected from intruders?

Now, put yourself in the shoes of the police officer, who is well trained to handle these situations.
He arrives on the scene, where supposedly two men have broken into the house, and are still inside, and that there is a good chance that foul play is going on inside. The police enter the house and confront the person inside, who they find is unruly, confrontational, abusive, and uncooperative, –and most importantly, hindering the police from doing their job.

Now, what are the police to think? Who is this man? Will he pull a gun? Where is the other man? Is the other man still in the process of escaping from the house, or is he lurking somewhere in the corners? Is the first man stalling and buying time, by his uncooperation and wild rantings? How are the police to correctly size up this situation? Must they be shot first?

Due to this professor’s wild rantings, false accusations, disrespect, reluctance to cooperate, and hinderance to the investigation, –without rational cause or reason, –than; this was indeed due cause for his arrest. It has nothing to do with race. –dc

Sword of the Spirit

Check out this interesting answer on Yedda

Yedda – People. Sharing. Knowledge.G-D

To Yogi,  I think your answer is a bit far out. The sword of the spirit is the Word of God.

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward."  (Mat.10:34-41).

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."
  (Eph. 6:10-20).  --dc

Walter Cronkite opinionated?

Walter Cronkite was in favor?" ...."Walter Cronkite opposed...? "

Walter Cronkite was a reporter of the news. I grew up watching Walter Cronkite, and I never remember him doing anything but to report the news. It seems to me that it was the news itself; therein lies the discernment.

Maybe the Opinions writer is thinking of commentator Eric Severied. I used to watch and listen to Eric Severied, just for my own entertainment, because, no matter how hard I would try, I could not figure out --at the end-- what he had actually said, in plain english; even though his discussions were amazingly captivating!

I was highly disappointed in Walter Cronkite, in recent years, when I happened to catch him on TV, narrating and hosting a movie about evolution, showing the famous -- proven wrong-- Time-Life diagram, which falsely shows how man evolved from apes. For one thing; the 'Piltdown Man' was proven to be a hoax; besides other discrepancies. I understand that Time-Life continued to publish this illustration showing apes to man, even after the errors were pointed out, --just because it "looked good." --dc

"If you believe Jesus is the son of God, how about Adam? Who is the father of him? Who is his mother?

"The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be": and he was. (Qur'an 3:59)."

My Reply:

1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2: The same was in the beginning with God.

3: All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4: In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5: And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6: There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7: The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8: He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9: That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10: He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11: He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten
of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(John 1:1-14).

ADAM (man---human being). The last work in the creation of the world, man was formed in God's own image (Genesis 1:26-27). Adam, the first man, was made of dust and was brought to life by God's breathing into his nostrils the breath of life (Gen.2:7, 6:17; Job 10:8-12). He was given dominion over all the animals of the earth (Gen.1:26-28) and lived in the Garden of Eden (Gen.2:8,15). Through Eve, Adam tested the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge and because God foresaw that Adam would eat of the tree of life also and live forever, he expelled the couple from the Garden of Eden (Gen.3:1-24). Adam had three children mentioned by name: Cain, Abel, and Seth and died at the age of 930. Paul mentions Adam as the first man, a living soul in whom all die, and calls Christ the last Adam, a life-giving spirit in whom all are made alive (Romans 5:12-21; 1 Cor.15:22, 45). (ref: The New Analytical Bible, and Dictionary of the Bible, John A. Dickson Publishing Co., Chicago, Revised Edition, 1973).

"Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

Jesus said unto them,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:57-58).

The sonship of Christ occurs in the New Testament nearly fifty times and is expressive of the relation that exists between the Father and the eternal Son (Mat.16:16, 27:43; Mark 1:1; John 3:18). He has all the perfections of God (John 1:1-14, 5:17-25; Philp.2:6). In receiving the commission of the Father, in his mode of operation he is subordinate, but not inferior (John 3:1, 17, 8:42; Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 1:2). It was because he claimed he was the Son of God, that he was charged with blasphemy by the Sanhedrin (Mat.26:63-66; Mark 14:61). At his baptism and transfiguration he was divinely acknowledged as the Son of God (Mat.3:16-17, 17:5).

Jesus, the Son of Man: This title was applied by Christ to himself. In his use of it does not denote that he was merely human and not divine for he frequently declared the latter. He identified himself with man in his human nature and in his sufferings for mankind (Mat.20:28; John 1:14). (ref: The New Analytical Bible, and Dictionary of the Bible, John A. Dickson Publishing Co., Chicago, Revised Edition, 1973).

Rev 1:8,11, 18-19 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty....... I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:..... I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter:
"

3: And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5: And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6: And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:3-8).

12: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14: Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15: For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

16: I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17: And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

18: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20: He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."
(Rev. 22:12-21). --dc

Remembering Walter Cronkite

I remember Walter Cronkite:

Like many, I grew up watching the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite.
"...and that's the way it is, ________. (date). "

I ran into Walter Cronkite, personally at times, while being a photographer for NASA, at Cape Canaveral, Fla., during the 1960's. I would see Walter Cronkite at the CBS News trailer, at the NASA press site, near the LCC (Launch Control Center), which was as close as visitors, or the press, could get to the Apollo Launch Pad 39A during a launch. (One thing I'll never forget, is my astonishment in seeing most of these famous reporters, from everywhere, rapidly pounding out their stories, on their typewriters, --using only two fingers! )

I also remember seeing Walter Cronkite, standing there and smoking his pipe, at a 'post-launch party' in Cocoa Beach. I had the job of taking pictures of selected honourees with various NASA Astronauts, and VIPs. ( Johnny Hart, cartoonist and creator of the comic strip "B.C." had also been invited to the event by IBM, and he drew me a cartoon of his famous snake character ). ( I also remember how beautiful women would cozy up to and flirt with the NASA astronauts there, --just like portrayed in the movie, 'The Right Stuff.' )

At another time, I almost literally 'bumped into' Walter Cronkite and his wife. I had been taking photos at the Hilton Hotel/Motel in Cape Canaveral. I was walking along the sidewalk in front of the rooms, and all of the sudden out pops Walter Cronkite and his wife. So, I just followed behind them, as the three of us walked through the hotel lobby. --Don Cole, People Watcher.

The Word 'commands us to do miracles' ?

The Word 'commands us to do miracles' ?
Posted 7/13/2009 5:58 PM EDT on dailyrecord.com

Whoa!..."The Word commands us to continue to do miracles."?
Ref: Blog post: 'Share your story, by MiraclesUSA'

This is a misunderstanding of Mark 16:17-18.
These miraculous gifts in Biblical times were temporary, and came through the laying on of the apostles' hands. Those who received such gifts of the Spirit from an apostle, could not pass the gift on to a third person. A thorough Bible study will bear this out. Also, one needs to consider what the purpose of these miracles were for. Miracles confirmed the authority of who the apostles were, the gospel, and their mission. It is the same reason that Jesus himself performed miracles. "These are written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God..." (John 20:31).

In 1910 George Went Hensley introduced snake handling to churches throughout the Appalachian region, after reading Mark 16:18. I understand that many preachers have died since, due to the same misunderstanding of this text. --dc

Where was I when man first walked on the moon?

Where I was when man first walked on the moon

Ref: usaweekend.com, "Where were you when man first walked on the moon?"
Well, as NASA Spacecraft Photographer, I had been assigned, during the countdown to launch, to take photographs inside the Spacecraft, Command Module, of all the panels and switch positions; shortly before the Astronauts entered in. By the time they actually landed on the moon, I was traveling across country on the start of my vacation. I don't think even my own family believed where I had just came from.

Is God an old man in the sky?

Reply to Armand L. Archambeault, (on Larry King Live thread)
No, I do not see God as an old man in the sky.God is superior to us. God exists in such a higher dimension than we do, that what is natural and ordinary to him is miraculous to us. The Bible recognized this concept and uses it in every single description of God.
God is light, (1 John 1:5)
God is love, (1 John 4:8, 16)
God is Spirit, ((John 4:24)
God is not flesh and blood, (Matt. 16:17)
God is not a man, (Numbers 23:19)
God is the word, (John 1:1)
God is unseen, (1 John 4:12)

Is God "petty, judgmental, and needy" ?

Is God “petty, judgmental, and needy,” ?
Ref: Larry King Live thread; To …….,

I don’t know what your family background is, but I ask you: Would you say the same things about your own parents?

Is it not natural and good for loving parents to only want what is best and good for their own children, and to teach and raise them up accordingly?
Are you a parent yourself?
Is a parent “petty, judgmental, and needy,” for wanting the best for their children?

So; why should God, who loves us, be any different?

Living the way of God is not about meeting the demands of some petty, judgmental, and needy entity in the sky, but in living a system that brings maximum joy, fulfillment, freedom, and peace. Why not come down off your high-hat and live life fully and completely—with all of the things that the God who created you wants you to have? –dc

My July 5, 2009 Sermon, 'FREEDOM in Christ'

Page 1.

I've titled my Sermon: FREEDOM in CHRIST. ...The truth will set you FREE! (John 8:32).
As we know, --We are in the midst of the 4th of July Holiday Weekend.
This is a time of FREEDOM Festivals & Parades, Displays of Patriotism, & Dancing in the Streets, Shopping-Sales, Traveling, Barbecues, Picnics, and a whole lot of Fireworks, --all in celebration of our country's --hard fought-- FREEDOM!
......................................................................
Our nation's Declaration of Independence was signed, on July 4, 1776.
And now, --after 233 years -- we are still celebrating our nation's FREEDOM.
But, what is freedom really? Consider the freedom that is of God; that is, --
the precious gospel of Jesus Christ, -- God's Truth; --wherewith lies the divine power to set all men FREE!
.............................................................................

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you FREE." (John 8:31-32).
God has given all persons, all nations, the means of true and everlasting FREEDOM, through Him, our Lord Jesus Christ.
That is, --freedom from this world, --freedom from the law of sin and death, freedom ---EVEN FROM THE STING OF DEATH !
................................................................................
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
(1 Cor. 15:55-57).
...................................................................................

Page 2.
God has sealed the Bible New Testament by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary.
This is God's new and better covenant for all mankind, --fulfilling for us, all of the law and the prophecies of the Old Testament,
--which the Bible says was but a schoolmaster, a mystery, or a shadow, of what was to come.
................................................................................
I tell you, --No human being could make these things up!
Only God himself could withstand such tests of time, throughout the ages,--with 100% accuracy in both science and in prophecy.
To those who have eyes to see, and ears that hear,
--yes; the truth of God has made us FREE!
...............................................................................
Page 3.
--That is; FREEDOM through God's own sacrifice, God's only son, Jesus Christ, the perfect lamb,
By this, we know that God is compassionate, loving, and 'just.' Because God is 'just', --the truth is, that sin must be paid for. --yet our sins He paid for us in full, on our behalf, that we might be saved.
...............................................................................
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name; Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12-13).
Jesus Christ has successfully given us the means of FREEDOM from the curse of the law of sin and death. Jesus Christ is given all power (authority) in heaven and in earth. (Mat. 28:18).
...............................................................................
Now, "... The 'JUST' shall live by FAITH." (Gal. 3:10-11).
" That in the ages to come (like now) he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Eph. 2:7-10).
.............................................................................

Page 4.
Therefore; --Christians have been set FREE,
because WE ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD,
AND SAVED THROUGH OUR FAITH THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD.
Yes! Jesus Christ is, and he demonstrated, --WHO HE SAID HE WAS!
.................................................................................

Christians are set FREE BY God's grace, THROUGH our faith
-- that Jesus Christ has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matt. 28:18).
Christians are set FREE BY grace, THROUGH faith, believing that:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was ...
..............................................................................
made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. .....The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:1-5, 14).
......................................................................

Page 5.
......... We are Saved --Set FREE-- BY God's loving GRACE :
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

..........................................................................
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

.....................................................................................
For he that is dead --Set FREE is FREED from sin. " (Rom 6:1-7)
We are Saved --Set FREE BY God's Grace THROUGH FAITH.
FAITH IN CHRIST IS OUR MEANS OF TRUE FREEDOM.
................................................................................

Page 6.
Knowing, believing that we are saved from death, --BY God's Grace, THROUGH FAITH, -- and not of works-- than we can recognize how our Faith brings : FREEDOM from Fear.
Those who TRUST in Christ, NEVER HAVE TO WALK ALONE.
..................................................................................
Heb 13:6 says: "So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."
Faith brings: FREEDOM from Self Performance.
While Christ continually works to change us to be more like Him, there is great peace in knowing that He accepts us just like we are.
"For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin." (Rom. 7:14)
....................................................................................

Faith brings: FREEDOM from sin.
In the face of sin's guilt, we can experience "no condemnation." Through Christ, we now have the power to say "no" to the things that would destroy us.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Rom. 8:1)
..................................................................................
Page 6a
"And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:4-10).
...........................................................................

Page 6b ...Continuing into Chapter 2, (1 John 2: verses 1-6) :

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."
..........................................................................

Page 7.
The potential for evil, or sin, resides within each of us. Within ourselves alone, no matter how hard we try, every one of us still falls short.
The Bible is clear; we cannot free ourselves from our own bondage.
..............................................................................
We are totally dependent on God and His grace.
"As it is written, There us none righteous, no, not one:........For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; Being justified FREELY by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:..." (Rom.3:10, 23-24).
Faith is our trust. Faith is our FREEDOM!
...................................................................................

Brothers and sisters in Christ,
we need to let our FREEDOM in Jesus Christ ring out to all of our friends, family and relatives, to ALL NATIONS,
'baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe whatsoever He has commanded us: and, lo, He is with us, even unto the end of the world. Amen.' (Mat. 28:19-20).
..................................................................................
Page 8.
(INVITATION:)
Finally, I would like to reach out an invitation,
in the name of Christian FREEDOM
to any persons here who have not yet been scripturally baptized
into Christ, for the remission of their sins.
"All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." (Rom 3:23).
.............................................................................
Perhaps now in spirit, you might have come to sense God's calling you
from bondage, from out of this fleeting world,
to the everlasting FREEDOM that is in CHRIST.
............................................................................

Page 9.
Perhaps you were baptized earlier in your life, but for the wrong reason, --and not for the remission of sins.
Perhaps you were 'sprinkled' with water, instead of being submersed. Did you 'come up out of the water,' or were you sprinkled?
Perhaps you have been baptized, but as an infant who had no clue as to what was going on.
............................................................................
Maybe you have been taught, that babies need to be baptized in order to be saved. But, can babies believe? Can babies repent? Can babies confess? Do babies really sin?
Will God really send a baby who has not been baptized into everlasting hell and damnation?
And, where in the Bible does it declare a need for any such thing, as a so- called 'Sacrament of 'Confirmation' in a baby's later, or adult, years?
.............................................................................
I tell you, --God's Word certainly does make the babies FREE!
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." (Ezek. 18:20).
........................................................................
Page 10.
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
FREE.
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made FREE?

............................................................................

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servent of sin.
And the servent abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth EVER.
If the Son therefore shall make you
FREE, ye shall be FREE indeed."
(John 8:31-36).
...............................................................................
Page 11.
The Lord's 'church' was established in Jerusalem, on the day of Pentecost, 33 A.D. This is when the apostle Peter preached, through the Holy Spirit,

and answered to the people there, who were highly remorseful,
and asking Peter and the rest of the apostles, " What shall we do?'
"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ FOR the FORGIVENESS of your sins.
And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit......
'

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, 'SAVE yourselves from this corrupt generation.'
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day."
(Acts 2:38-41).

Now; there may be someone here who has not yet experienced this eternal joy, or known about,
--the true and everlasting FREEDOM, which the Bible talks about,
which is available to those who receive Jesus Christ, --to those who believe and obey the gospel, by repenting of their sins, and by putting the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on in water baptism.
..............................................................................
Baptism into Jesus Christ is dieing to self, in the likeness of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection;
--that is, to rise up out of the water in holy baptism, a new creature, a new life, in Christ, FREE from the bondage of this world, and to the Law of the Old Testament, FREEDOM to become one with Christ, to follow and trust Jesus God, your maker, -- throughout life; God, who will clothe you in eternal FREEDOM and PEACE in all circumstances.
............................................................................

And at your Baptism, --God will give you the gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, to help you in every way, your own body even becoming a temple of God.
"... when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" (1 Peter 3:20-21).

Like the Ethiopian nobelman eunuch, said to Philip,
who had been explaining to him the Scriptures about Jesus,
--"See, here is much water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.
And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still:

and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
And when they were come up out of the water,
the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip,
that the eunuch saw him no more:
and he went on his way rejoicing
." (Acts 8:36-39).

Now, in like manner, --you can also experience this FREEDOM in Christ!
--See here we also have much water [show the baptistry],
-- what doth hinder YOU NOW, to being baptized into Christ Jesus?
...................................................................................

I encourage any person, or persons, who is here this morning, who have never yet been baptized into Christ, for the remission of their sins, and who are indeed old enough to comprehend what they are doing, and who do believe, and are ready to confess that Jesus is the Son of God; who have repented of their sins, and are desiringto put Christ on in scriptural baptism,
-- while receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit -- to please come forward, when the congregation sings our invitational song.
..........................................................................

Like the Ethiopian Nobelman; as soon as he came upon much water; why not make use of this opportunity that the Lord has given you? "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the nameof the Lord." (Acts 22:15-16).

If you feel that GOD is calling you now, to FREEDOM IN CHRIST, --please come forward, up to the front pews, as we sing:.....
