Larry King asks: "Why doesn't God stop bad things from happening?"

E-mail to Larry King: About your question, “Why doesn’t God stop bad things from happening?”

Larry, “Why dosen’t God step in and stop calamities from happening?”
Obviously, that is not God’s plan. Man was made in God’s image, with a free-will to do whatever.

Think about it, if God were to put a shield all around us to protect us from all harm, etc., what would that make us? –certainly less than human.

Also, it saddens me when your guest celebrity preachers always refuse to deal with the deep and important issues you ask about, such as the Muslim religion, or "Why should I believe? "etc. Their skirting the issues is hardly what Jesus Christ commanded his disciples to do , ...‘to be the light and salt of the earth,’ or to ‘go into all the world, baptizing all nations, teaching them what Christ has commanded.’ (Re; Matt.28:18-20). –dc

The Qur'an does not command Muslims to terrorize Americans.

The Qur'an does not command Muslims to terrorize Americans.

No, what the commandment in the true Qur'an really says is "Kill those who believe not in Allah...even if they are of the People of the Book (Christians and Jews)."

The Qur'an (translated for Westerners to read), that I purchased not long ago from my local book store reads: "Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given as believe not in God, or the Last Day, and who forbid not that which God and His Apostle have forbidden, and who profess not the profession of the truth, until they pay tribute out of hand, and they be humbled." (Surah 9:29).

However; what the true Qu'ran really says is: "Kill [Slay] those who believe not in Allah nor hold that forbidden which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." (Surah 9:29, emphasis added). --dc

Fort Hood Massacre: --Are we Blind, Dumb, Crazy or What?

What on earth was a person of the Muslim faith, doing counselling our returning troops in the American Army?

Do only Muslims read the real Qur'an? Don't we know that Muslims believe that the word of God was dictated exactly, word for word, to their holy Prophet Muhammad, for all mankind to obey?

How on earth can anyone be a loyal American, and a Major in our United States Army, and at the same time be loyal to their Holy Prophet Muhammad? According to Muhammad, Allah; --slaying people who are not Muslims is nothing less than the holy and divine will of God (Allah).
What should we expect, when we leave the truth of God out of our country, accommodating sin and evil? --dc

Cash for Clunkers?

Cash for Clunkers?

Now, let me get this straight:

Our government, is borrowing exuberant amounts of money in order to give cash to people for destroying their old cars, in order to to buy new cars?

I don't understand the logic here. Spending more money that we don't have for the purpose of destorying used cars is going to help our economy?

What's next? --Will the government print new money for people to throw away day-old food, to buy new food in order to prosper supermarkets? And so on and on, --where will it all end?

Cash for Clunkers? --I wonder who are the clunkers here?

According to a recent study, new midsize cars will will take a big financial hit if they get into traffic accidents even at speeds as low as 3 mph. So, I suppose now, this will be yet another boon to our economy, by putting more cash into the hands of the collision repair industry. --dc

White House Beer Summit

White House Beer Summit Posted July 30, 2009; to CNN NewsRoom, by doncolecartoons Categories: Racism, Truth, Uncategorized

It would improve race relations if Prof. Gates would admit his mistake.
Sgt. Crowley should not back down; if he was just doing his job.

However, this is a good opportunity to explain why the police must follow procedures, and the good reasons why these procedures exist.

We should be moving forward, not dwelling in the past. Creating racial issues in every situation, where none exists is not putting our country first. –dc

The professor, the police officer, and Obama

The professor, the police officer, and ObamaPosted July 30, 2009 by doncolecartoonsCategories: News, Racism, Truth, Uncategorized Tags: ,

This is a no-brainer. The professor was clearly way out of line, and the police officer was doing his job. It is as simple as that.

Put yourself in the same situation: You have locked yourself out of your house, and you and another person are trying to break into the front door. A neighbor sees this and calls 911 to report a suspected burglery in progress. After you have entered your home, the police arrive. Would you not be a bit embarrassed to have caused a stir, and be only ready and willing to apologize and quickly answer questions in order to straighten out the problem? Wouldn’t you be thankful that your house and interests are being protected from intruders?

Now, put yourself in the shoes of the police officer, who is well trained to handle these situations.
He arrives on the scene, where supposedly two men have broken into the house, and are still inside, and that there is a good chance that foul play is going on inside. The police enter the house and confront the person inside, who they find is unruly, confrontational, abusive, and uncooperative, –and most importantly, hindering the police from doing their job.

Now, what are the police to think? Who is this man? Will he pull a gun? Where is the other man? Is the other man still in the process of escaping from the house, or is he lurking somewhere in the corners? Is the first man stalling and buying time, by his uncooperation and wild rantings? How are the police to correctly size up this situation? Must they be shot first?

Due to this professor’s wild rantings, false accusations, disrespect, reluctance to cooperate, and hinderance to the investigation, –without rational cause or reason, –than; this was indeed due cause for his arrest. It has nothing to do with race. –dc

Sword of the Spirit

Check out this interesting answer on Yedda

Yedda – People. Sharing. Knowledge.G-D

To Yogi,  I think your answer is a bit far out. The sword of the spirit is the Word of God.

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward."  (Mat.10:34-41).

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."
  (Eph. 6:10-20).  --dc

Walter Cronkite opinionated?

Walter Cronkite was in favor?" ...."Walter Cronkite opposed...? "

Walter Cronkite was a reporter of the news. I grew up watching Walter Cronkite, and I never remember him doing anything but to report the news. It seems to me that it was the news itself; therein lies the discernment.

Maybe the Opinions writer is thinking of commentator Eric Severied. I used to watch and listen to Eric Severied, just for my own entertainment, because, no matter how hard I would try, I could not figure out --at the end-- what he had actually said, in plain english; even though his discussions were amazingly captivating!

I was highly disappointed in Walter Cronkite, in recent years, when I happened to catch him on TV, narrating and hosting a movie about evolution, showing the famous -- proven wrong-- Time-Life diagram, which falsely shows how man evolved from apes. For one thing; the 'Piltdown Man' was proven to be a hoax; besides other discrepancies. I understand that Time-Life continued to publish this illustration showing apes to man, even after the errors were pointed out, --just because it "looked good." --dc

"If you believe Jesus is the son of God, how about Adam? Who is the father of him? Who is his mother?

"The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be": and he was. (Qur'an 3:59)."

My Reply:

1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2: The same was in the beginning with God.

3: All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4: In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5: And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6: There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7: The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8: He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9: That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10: He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11: He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten
of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(John 1:1-14).

ADAM (man---human being). The last work in the creation of the world, man was formed in God's own image (Genesis 1:26-27). Adam, the first man, was made of dust and was brought to life by God's breathing into his nostrils the breath of life (Gen.2:7, 6:17; Job 10:8-12). He was given dominion over all the animals of the earth (Gen.1:26-28) and lived in the Garden of Eden (Gen.2:8,15). Through Eve, Adam tested the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge and because God foresaw that Adam would eat of the tree of life also and live forever, he expelled the couple from the Garden of Eden (Gen.3:1-24). Adam had three children mentioned by name: Cain, Abel, and Seth and died at the age of 930. Paul mentions Adam as the first man, a living soul in whom all die, and calls Christ the last Adam, a life-giving spirit in whom all are made alive (Romans 5:12-21; 1 Cor.15:22, 45). (ref: The New Analytical Bible, and Dictionary of the Bible, John A. Dickson Publishing Co., Chicago, Revised Edition, 1973).

"Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

Jesus said unto them,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:57-58).

The sonship of Christ occurs in the New Testament nearly fifty times and is expressive of the relation that exists between the Father and the eternal Son (Mat.16:16, 27:43; Mark 1:1; John 3:18). He has all the perfections of God (John 1:1-14, 5:17-25; Philp.2:6). In receiving the commission of the Father, in his mode of operation he is subordinate, but not inferior (John 3:1, 17, 8:42; Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 1:2). It was because he claimed he was the Son of God, that he was charged with blasphemy by the Sanhedrin (Mat.26:63-66; Mark 14:61). At his baptism and transfiguration he was divinely acknowledged as the Son of God (Mat.3:16-17, 17:5).

Jesus, the Son of Man: This title was applied by Christ to himself. In his use of it does not denote that he was merely human and not divine for he frequently declared the latter. He identified himself with man in his human nature and in his sufferings for mankind (Mat.20:28; John 1:14). (ref: The New Analytical Bible, and Dictionary of the Bible, John A. Dickson Publishing Co., Chicago, Revised Edition, 1973).

Rev 1:8,11, 18-19 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty....... I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:..... I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter:
"

3: And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5: And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6: And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:3-8).

12: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14: Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15: For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

16: I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17: And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

18: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20: He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."
(Rev. 22:12-21). --dc

Remembering Walter Cronkite

I remember Walter Cronkite:

Like many, I grew up watching the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite.
"...and that's the way it is, ________. (date). "

I ran into Walter Cronkite, personally at times, while being a photographer for NASA, at Cape Canaveral, Fla., during the 1960's. I would see Walter Cronkite at the CBS News trailer, at the NASA press site, near the LCC (Launch Control Center), which was as close as visitors, or the press, could get to the Apollo Launch Pad 39A during a launch. (One thing I'll never forget, is my astonishment in seeing most of these famous reporters, from everywhere, rapidly pounding out their stories, on their typewriters, --using only two fingers! )

I also remember seeing Walter Cronkite, standing there and smoking his pipe, at a 'post-launch party' in Cocoa Beach. I had the job of taking pictures of selected honourees with various NASA Astronauts, and VIPs. ( Johnny Hart, cartoonist and creator of the comic strip "B.C." had also been invited to the event by IBM, and he drew me a cartoon of his famous snake character ). ( I also remember how beautiful women would cozy up to and flirt with the NASA astronauts there, --just like portrayed in the movie, 'The Right Stuff.' )

At another time, I almost literally 'bumped into' Walter Cronkite and his wife. I had been taking photos at the Hilton Hotel/Motel in Cape Canaveral. I was walking along the sidewalk in front of the rooms, and all of the sudden out pops Walter Cronkite and his wife. So, I just followed behind them, as the three of us walked through the hotel lobby. --Don Cole, People Watcher.

The Word 'commands us to do miracles' ?

The Word 'commands us to do miracles' ?
Posted 7/13/2009 5:58 PM EDT on dailyrecord.com

Whoa!..."The Word commands us to continue to do miracles."?
Ref: Blog post: 'Share your story, by MiraclesUSA'

This is a misunderstanding of Mark 16:17-18.
These miraculous gifts in Biblical times were temporary, and came through the laying on of the apostles' hands. Those who received such gifts of the Spirit from an apostle, could not pass the gift on to a third person. A thorough Bible study will bear this out. Also, one needs to consider what the purpose of these miracles were for. Miracles confirmed the authority of who the apostles were, the gospel, and their mission. It is the same reason that Jesus himself performed miracles. "These are written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God..." (John 20:31).

In 1910 George Went Hensley introduced snake handling to churches throughout the Appalachian region, after reading Mark 16:18. I understand that many preachers have died since, due to the same misunderstanding of this text. --dc

Where I was when man first walked on the moon

Well, as NASA Spacecraft Photographer, I had been assigned, during the countdown to launch, to take photographs inside the Spacecraft, Command Module, of all the panels and switch positions; shortly before the Astronauts entered in. By the time they actually landed on the moon, I was traveling across country on the start of my vacation. I don't think even my own family believed where I had just came from.

Is God an old man in the sky?

doncolecartoons

July 11th, 2009 2:37 pm ET
Reply to Armand L. Archambeault, (on Larry King Live thread)
No, I do not see God as an old man in the sky.God is superior to us. God exists in such a higher dimension than we do, that what is natural and ordinary to him is miraculous to us. The Bible recognized this concept and uses it in every single description of God.
God is light, (1 John 1:5)
God is love, (1 John 4:8, 16)
God is Spirit, ((John 4:24)
God is not flesh and blood, (Matt. 16:17)
God is not a man, (Numbers 23:19)
God is the word, (John 1:1)
God is unseen, (1 John 4:12)

Is God "petty, judgmental, and needy" ?

Is God “petty, judgmental, and needy,” ?
Ref: Larry King Live thread; To …….,

I don’t know what your family background is, but I ask you: Would you say the same things about your own parents?

Is it not natural and good for loving parents to only want what is best and good for their own children, and to teach and raise them up accordingly?
Are you a parent yourself?
Is a parent “petty, judgmental, and needy,” for wanting the best for their children?

So; why should God, who loves us, be any different?

Living the way of God is not about meeting the demands of some petty, judgmental, and needy entity in the sky, but in living a system that brings maximum joy, fulfillment, freedom, and peace. Why not come down off your high-hat and live life fully and completely—with all of the things that the God who created you wants you to have? –dc

My July 5, 2009 Sermon, 'FREEDOM in Christ'

Page 1.

I've titled my Sermon: FREEDOM in CHRIST. ...The truth will set you FREE! (John 8:32).
As we know, --We are in the midst of the 4th of July Holiday Weekend.
This is a time of FREEDOM Festivals & Parades, Displays of Patriotism, & Dancing in the Streets, Shopping-Sales, Traveling, Barbecues, Picnics, and a whole lot of Fireworks, --all in celebration of our country's --hard fought-- FREEDOM!
......................................................................
Our nation's Declaration of Independence was signed, on July 4, 1776.
And now, --after 233 years -- we are still celebrating our nation's FREEDOM.
But, what is freedom really? Consider the freedom that is of God; that is, --
the precious gospel of Jesus Christ, -- God's Truth; --wherewith lies the divine power to set all men FREE!
.............................................................................

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you FREE." (John 8:31-32).
God has given all persons, all nations, the means of true and everlasting FREEDOM, through Him, our Lord Jesus Christ.
That is, --freedom from this world, --freedom from the law of sin and death, freedom ---EVEN FROM THE STING OF DEATH !
................................................................................
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
(1 Cor. 15:55-57).
...................................................................................

Page 2.
God has sealed the Bible New Testament by the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary.
This is God's new and better covenant for all mankind, --fulfilling for us, all of the law and the prophecies of the Old Testament,
--which the Bible says was but a schoolmaster, a mystery, or a shadow, of what was to come.
................................................................................
I tell you, --No human being could make these things up!
Only God himself could withstand such tests of time, throughout the ages,--with 100% accuracy in both science and in prophecy.
To those who have eyes to see, and ears that hear,
--yes; the truth of God has made us FREE!
...............................................................................
Page 3.
--That is; FREEDOM through God's own sacrifice, God's only son, Jesus Christ, the perfect lamb,
By this, we know that God is compassionate, loving, and 'just.' Because God is 'just', --the truth is, that sin must be paid for. --yet our sins He paid for us in full, on our behalf, that we might be saved.
...............................................................................
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name; Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12-13).
Jesus Christ has successfully given us the means of FREEDOM from the curse of the law of sin and death. Jesus Christ is given all power (authority) in heaven and in earth. (Mat. 28:18).
...............................................................................
Now, "... The 'JUST' shall live by FAITH." (Gal. 3:10-11).
" That in the ages to come (like now) he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Eph. 2:7-10).
.............................................................................

Page 4.
Therefore; --Christians have been set FREE,
because WE ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD,
AND SAVED THROUGH OUR FAITH THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD.
Yes! Jesus Christ is, and he demonstrated, --WHO HE SAID HE WAS!
.................................................................................

Christians are set FREE BY God's grace, THROUGH our faith
-- that Jesus Christ has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matt. 28:18).
Christians are set FREE BY grace, THROUGH faith, believing that:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was ...
..............................................................................
made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. .....The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:1-5, 14).
......................................................................

Page 5.
......... We are Saved --Set FREE-- BY God's loving GRACE :
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

..........................................................................
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

.....................................................................................
For he that is dead --Set FREE is FREED from sin. " (Rom 6:1-7)
We are Saved --Set FREE BY God's Grace THROUGH FAITH.
FAITH IN CHRIST IS OUR MEANS OF TRUE FREEDOM.
................................................................................

Page 6.
Knowing, believing that we are saved from death, --BY God's Grace, THROUGH FAITH, -- and not of works-- than we can recognize how our Faith brings : FREEDOM from Fear.
Those who TRUST in Christ, NEVER HAVE TO WALK ALONE.
..................................................................................
Heb 13:6 says: "So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."
Faith brings: FREEDOM from Self Performance.
While Christ continually works to change us to be more like Him, there is great peace in knowing that He accepts us just like we are.
"For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin." (Rom. 7:14)
....................................................................................

Faith brings: FREEDOM from sin.
In the face of sin's guilt, we can experience "no condemnation." Through Christ, we now have the power to say "no" to the things that would destroy us.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Rom. 8:1)
..................................................................................
Page 6a
"And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:4-10).
...........................................................................

Page 6b ...Continuing into Chapter 2, (1 John 2: verses 1-6) :

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."
..........................................................................

Page 7.
The potential for evil, or sin, resides within each of us. Within ourselves alone, no matter how hard we try, every one of us still falls short.
The Bible is clear; we cannot free ourselves from our own bondage.
..............................................................................
We are totally dependent on God and His grace.
"As it is written, There us none righteous, no, not one:........For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; Being justified FREELY by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:..." (Rom.3:10, 23-24).
Faith is our trust. Faith is our FREEDOM!
...................................................................................

Brothers and sisters in Christ,
we need to let our FREEDOM in Jesus Christ ring out to all of our friends, family and relatives, to ALL NATIONS,
'baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe whatsoever He has commanded us: and, lo, He is with us, even unto the end of the world. Amen.' (Mat. 28:19-20).
..................................................................................
Page 8.
(INVITATION:)
Finally, I would like to reach out an invitation,
in the name of Christian FREEDOM
to any persons here who have not yet been scripturally baptized
into Christ, for the remission of their sins.
"All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." (Rom 3:23).
.............................................................................
Perhaps now in spirit, you might have come to sense God's calling you
from bondage, from out of this fleeting world,
to the everlasting FREEDOM that is in CHRIST.
............................................................................

Page 9.
Perhaps you were baptized earlier in your life, but for the wrong reason, --and not for the remission of sins.
Perhaps you were 'sprinkled' with water, instead of being submersed. Did you 'come up out of the water,' or were you sprinkled?
Perhaps you have been baptized, but as an infant who had no clue as to what was going on.
............................................................................
Maybe you have been taught, that babies need to be baptized in order to be saved. But, can babies believe? Can babies repent? Can babies confess? Do babies really sin?
Will God really send a baby who has not been baptized into everlasting hell and damnation?
And, where in the Bible does it declare a need for any such thing, as a so- called 'Sacrament of 'Confirmation' in a baby's later, or adult, years?
.............................................................................
I tell you, --God's Word certainly does make the babies FREE!
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." (Ezek. 18:20).
........................................................................
Page 10.
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
FREE.
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made FREE?

............................................................................

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servent of sin.
And the servent abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth EVER.
If the Son therefore shall make you
FREE, ye shall be FREE indeed."
(John 8:31-36).
...............................................................................
Page 11.
The Lord's 'church' was established in Jerusalem, on the day of Pentecost, 33 A.D. This is when the apostle Peter preached, through the Holy Spirit,
................................................................................

and answered to the people there, who were highly remorseful,
and asking Peter and the rest of the apostles, " What shall we do?'
"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ FOR the FORGIVENESS of your sins.
And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit......
'
..........................................................................

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, 'SAVE yourselves from this corrupt generation.'
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day."
(Acts 2:38-41).
............................................................................
Page 12.
Now; there may be someone here who has not yet experienced this eternal joy, or known about,
--the true and everlasting FREEDOM, which the Bible talks about,
which is available to those who receive Jesus Christ, --to those who believe and obey the gospel, by repenting of their sins, and by putting the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on in water baptism.
..............................................................................
Baptism into Jesus Christ is dieing to self, in the likeness of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection;
--that is, to rise up out of the water in holy baptism, a new creature, a new life, in Christ, FREE from the bondage of this world, and to the Law of the Old Testament, FREEDOM to become one with Christ, to follow and trust Jesus God, your maker, -- throughout life; God, who will clothe you in eternal FREEDOM and PEACE in all circumstances.
............................................................................

And at your Baptism, --God will give you the gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, to help you in every way, your own body even becoming a temple of God.
"... when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" (1 Peter 3:20-21).
............................................................................
Page 13 ( -ENDING-)
Like the Ethiopian nobelman eunuch, said to Philip,
who had been explaining to him the Scriptures about Jesus,
--"See, here is much water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.
And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still:
...................................................................

and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
And when they were come up out of the water,
the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip,
that the eunuch saw him no more:
and he went on his way rejoicing
." (Acts 8:36-39).
.........................................................................

Page 14.
Now, in like manner, --you can also experience this FREEDOM in Christ!
--See here we also have much water [show the baptistry],
-- what doth hinder YOU NOW, to being baptized into Christ Jesus?
...................................................................................

I encourage any person, or persons, who is here this morning, who have never yet been baptized into Christ, for the remission of their sins, and who are indeed old enough to comprehend what they are doing, and who do believe, and are ready to confess that Jesus is the Son of God; who have repented of their sins, and are desiringto put Christ on in scriptural baptism,
-- while receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit -- to please come forward, when the congregation sings our invitational song.
..........................................................................

Like the Ethiopian Nobelman; as soon as he came upon much water; why not make use of this opportunity that the Lord has given you? "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the nameof the Lord." (Acts 22:15-16).

If you feel that GOD is calling you now, to FREEDOM IN CHRIST, --please come forward, up to the front pews, as we sing:.....

Is Jesus Christ a fraud?

In Answer to the next Issue, from Openyourmind786:

"Blessed is He Who sent down the Criterion to His Servant, that it may be an admonition to all creatures; He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: no son has He begotten, nor has He a partner in His dominion: it is He Who created all things, and ordered them in due proportions. Yet have they taken, Besides Him, gods that can create nothing but are themselves created;that have no control of hurt or good to themselves; nor can they control Death nor Life nor Resurrection". (Qur'an 25:1).

Yes. What you quote here is indeed from the Qur'an, the beginning of Sura 25, 'AL FURKAN.'

Continuing from where you left off, the Qur'an goes on to say: "And the infidels say, 'This Koran is a mere fraud of his own devising, and others have helped him with it, who had come hither by outrage and lie.' "

Well, your prophet Muhammad got that right!

So, this discussion comes back around as to who is the deceiver, --Muhammad, or Jesus Christ? You believe that the liar and deceiver was Jesus Christ, and that Christians and Jews are infidels, "pagans that shall burn forever in the fire of Hell; the vilest of all creatures." (Qur'an, The Proof 98:6-7). This is difficult to believe, considering the universal good and love, for all people, that Jesus taught and exemplified. Also, take a good look at the fruit of each faith. Look at the country that was founded on Christian principles, and then look at the nations that are not. Who has true God (or Allah) really favored? Has God actually blessed so, 'the vilest of all creatures, that shall burn forever in the fire of Hell' ?

Why do Muslims come to this country to live, while all the time kneeling down and worshipping the god of Muhammad, --praying in allegiance to what their holy prophet Muhammad wrote down in the Qur'an, taken to be the exact, word for word, statements of Allah? What are people in this country to think, when we read such things in the Qur'an as: "Make war on them (Christians and Jews) until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme." (Qur'an, The Spoils 8:37-41). Or "We changed them (men who were wrongdoers) into detested apes. ...transforming them into apes and swine." (The Heights 7:164-166.) Or "When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters (Christians and Jews) wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them." (Repentance 9:4-7).

These are just some examples, of how one can go on and on, quoting the Qur'an, in comparison to Christianity; that is, the Bible New Testament; and in showing the evidences of the true nature of God as described in the Bible, throughout history; and in offering up scientific and prophetic examples, to show that the Bible is of the one true God, and not the Qur'an. However, I look forward to a reply, or replies, and continuing this discussion, with Openyourmind786, or any person who might have something constructive to contribute, from whatever faith. At any rate I'll be back for the next 'Issue', as there are still more issues to answer from Openyourmind786.. God bless... I do enjoy this. 8< )

"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17).

Is Bill Clinton Correct? --'World Peace Only by Accommodation'?

People need to understand what the Qur’an actually teaches, (not the white-washed version), and to honestly question the divine validity of the Muslim holy prophet Muhammad. As long as Muslims believe that the Qur'an is truly the Word of God (Allah), they will, sooner or later, adhere to all of it's teachings.

i.e.: Word for Word from God (Allah): “It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land” (Qur’an 8:67).

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse….Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody….Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Bible NT, Romans 12:14, 17, 21).

A basic test of a true prophet of God, is that the prophet of God is never wrong.

i.e.: Word for Word from God (Allah): Statement: Honey comes out of a bee’s abdomen and heals men. (Al-Anam 6:38, Sura of the Bee). Fact: Honey is not produced in a bee’s abdomen.

Statement: Semen comes from the back or kidney area, not from the testicles. (The Women 4:23, Al-Nisa; The Heights 7:172, Al-Araf). Fact: Seman comes from the testicles.

The point I am trying to make here, is that the people of the world need to sit down together and make an honest quest for truth. There is a war going on in heavenly places, between good and evil. The light overcomes the darkness; –it does not accommodate it. --dc

i.e.: Word for Word from God (Allah): “The unbelievers among the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) and the pagans shall burn in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.” (The Proof 98:6-7).

i.e.: Word for Word from God (Allah): "Freedom from obligation (is proclaimed) from Allah and His messenger toward those of the idolaters with whom ye made a treaty" (Qur'an 9:1).

"Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord" (Matthew 5:33).

The Bride of Christ, --a city?

Christ, Savior, I Am Who I Am, The Lamb of God

To Man4G, I'm sorry, I can't agree with you when you say "What the Bride of Christ Is: Saying that: "It is that great city, the holy Jerusalem (Rev 21:2,9-10). This is what the angel pointed out to John when he promised to show him the bride, the Lamb's wife — the Holy City, the heavenly Jerusalem. What a simple revelation!"

Rev 21:2 coming down from God: The new creation is a gift from God. In the beginning, God created everything good, and in the end, God will create a new, unbroken world. *This picture of Jerusalem as a beautiful bride (see Isa. 61:10) contrasts starkly with the vision of Babylon (or Rome) as the prostitute (17:4-5; 18:2-3.)

This symbolic vision of the new Jerusalem uses vivid word pictures to describe the bride, the wife of the Lamb---all those who respond to Christ's message of salvation. " And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." (Rev. 21:2) " And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." (Rev. 22:17). " Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church." (Eph. 5:22-32). (Ref: NLT Study Bible) --dc

Whirlwindflower, a lamb of God?

Check out this interesting answer on Yedda

Yedda – People. Sharing. Knowledge.Jesus, Christ, Savior, I Am Who I Am, The Lamb of God

Wildwindflower, Yes, I am one of his lambs, and I listen to His voice, and His voice tells me you are not of Him. The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. You would do well to study it. When it comes to 'your 8 year old Grandson, and your 9 year old Granddaughter,' you might want to consider getting your act together. " But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." (Mat. 18:6).

"13: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Amen."
(Rev.22:13-21).

NOT from God

Yedda – People. Sharing. Knowledge.Jesus, Christ, Savior, I Am Who I Am, The Lamb of God

To Whirlwindflower;

In regards to your latest post, "It was a vision, like a portrait of him.  See the Shockton picture I have on my name.  That is very much like the image he gave me, but his hair is dark brown and short, no facial hair, and he had a scarf with squares, which he stated stands for faith.  The Lord has also shown my 8 year old Grandson, and my 9 year old Granddaughter. " and on and on..

Yes; I would lump you with the likes of Jim Jones, David Karesh,  and the like.  This is definitely not from God.

"2: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

To Whirlwindflower;

About your post, stating: "Yes I know his voice well and I even know what he looks like. He gave me what he called an image of him. He is awesome and so is our Poppa in heaven."

"For there is no respect of persons with God." (Romans 2:11).

"23: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Church not the Bride of Christ?

Check out this interesting answer on Yedda

Yedda – People. Sharing. Knowledge.Jesus, Christ, Savior, I Am Who I Am, The Lamb of God

To Whirlwindflower;

About:  "Did you ask God and Jesus who the wife of Jesus is?  It is not the Church.  We the people in Christ make up his temple true, for he is the Highest Priest of his Temple.  It does not pertain to religion here on earth but in the Heavenly realm."

" And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
  (Matt. 28:18-20).

Also, you quote John, Chapter 10, but that does not adequately back up your statement, about the bride  of Christ.
Earlier in John, Chapter 3, --Christ is also represented, by John the Baptist, as the Bridegroom and the church as his bride.

" He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled." (John 3:29).

And in Revelation 21:9: "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife."

As for your statement: "How many of you listen and hear God's actual voice and the Lord Jesus's actual voice. Jesus stated my lambs will know my voice." It appears that you are implying an incorrect implication here.

See Hebrews 1:1-2  " God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain." (1 Cor. 15:1-2).

" I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:6-9).

" Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:" (2 Peter 1:2-3). --dc

The 'Trinity'

Answer to the next Issue, from Openyourmind786:

"And the main issue is that Christians call Jesus their Lord. You call on him as he is a God, when he not. You believe in the Trinity and Muslims do not. We call on Allah and Allah alone...."

Openyourmind; I quote your first paragraph here, about your 'main issue', because it is easiest for me to deal with each of the paragraphs in consecutive order. In all respect, I really appreciate this opportunity to answer, and I thank you, (and also the Daily Record, Forums, Opinion pages).

Way back, in this thread, I believe that you said that Muslims, as do Christians, believe in the truth of the books of the Old Testament, except that men had changed some of them. Then I asked, 'Which ones were changed, when, and where?" And, you never answered. I would assume you must have been talking about all the Old Testament holy scriptures that foretold of the coming of Jesus Christ. But if these prophecies were not true, than how is it that they were all indeed accurate and fulfilled by Jesus Christ, exactly as the prophets in the holy scriptures had predicted? No man could make this stuff up! You yourself say that Muslims believe that Jesus was a good prophet. Is a good prophet also a liar and a deceiver?

One simple test in recognizing who is a true prophet of God, and who is a false prophet, is that a true prophet speaking in the name of God, (or Allah) is never wrong. As I have shown and pointed out earlier, the Muslim holy prophet Muhammad was wrong about a lot of things, a lot of the time, just like any rationally thinking person might expect, from any false prophet.

You state accurately that Christians believe in the Trinity, and Muslims do not. You also state that Muslims call on Allah (God) and Allah (God) alone...

The fact is, that both Muslims and Christians alike believe that they are worshipping the one true God (or 'Allah'). However, both Muslims and Christians are not worshipping the one true God (or Allah). It is either Muslims or Christians who have been, and are, deceived.

Let me clarify this word "Trinity." There are many misconceptions as to the true meaning of this concept. First of all, the word "Trinity" is never used in the Bible. What we are talking about is the true nature of the one true God (or Allah), as described by His Word. The Bible does NOT present God as both one and three, as some contend. There is just one God (or 'Allah'). (See Deuteronomy 6:4), yet this God is three persons ---Father, Son, and Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17; Mark 1: 9-11; Luke 3:21-22). Many find this hard to understand, but being difficult to understand does not make it a contradiction. Personally, I do not find it confusing at all, --no more confusing than what is water? Water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen; take away one element and you no longer have water.

How else can almighty God (or Allah) communicate to us in terms we might understand? "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Genesis 1:1). Would we have understood it better, if God (or Allah) had handed down tons of volumes of technical and scientific data detailing it all in terms we could not understand? The beauty of it all, is that to this very day, where knowledge has been greatly increased (one of the signs of the end times), Genesis, and the rest of the Bible, stands boldly true! Compare that with the beliefs of the people of the day, or of the Qur'an...or any other of man's so-called 'holy' books. --dc

From where in the Qur'an did Obama quote?

Exactly where in the Qur'an did Obama quote from?
Posted 6/7/2009 10:23 PM EDT on dailyrecord.com
Just where in the Holy Qur'an did Obama get the passages from, that he quoted in his speech, in Egypt to the Muslim world? Surely, it is vital that we all understand the correct meaning and context in which these words were originally written down, by the Muslim Holy prophet, Muhammad.
I am hoping someone will help me out here. --dc

Obama's Speech in Egypt to Muslim world

Obama's Speech in Egypt to Muslim world
Posted 6/4/2009 6:24 PM EDT on dailyrecord.com

Obama's Speech in Egypt to Muslim world
Obama's speech was good, and probably done as well as any president of the United States could deliver, or do under such circumstances. God be with us all. Peace on earth, as it is in heaven. I give Obama a lot of credit.

I would like to believe, like our president, that the core of the Islamic belief is not the same as Al Qaeda. But, --do all religions really believe, the same as what president Obama declared in his speech, that --"no religion believes in killing of innocent women and children"? Or, "Do unto others, as you would have others do unto you."? I believe, reading in proper context, that these are principles taught by Jesus Christ, and not by Muhammad.

"It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land" (Qur'an 8:67).

"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse...Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody...Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:14, 17, 21).

Torture?

Re: Letter to the Editor, in the Daily Record, by John D. Capsouras, Randolph: "FORMER VICE PRESIDENT... Torture is never acceptable option...To the Editor: To former vice president Dick Cheny and his ilk--- Three things wrong under any circumstance: pedophilia, incest and torture! Enough said, you cretins?"

I cannot sit by and let this letter go by without an answer. First of all, this is all about 'waterboarding,' and has nothing to do with "pedophilia' and "incest," --in the name of "Dick Chenny and his ilk." Waterboarding is indeed a scarry thing, but it was done in an extreme case, as a last resort, and with medical supervision. It left no lasting efffects on the recipient. It DID SAVE THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT AMERICAN LIVES! Thank God, Barack Obama was not president at that time. However, I would like to think that even Obama would have done the same thing that the Bush administration did, if he had been in the same shoes. The problem here is, people take no heed in numbers of lives saved, but only those who have already died. --dc

God is the Word

Donald Cole at 10:28pm May 28 on Facebook.

Talking to Christians:

Yes. With God, we have no privacy, and that is a good thing. We do not want to grieve the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 4:30).

24/7 God consciousness is what I try for; God is in us and with us. Whatever we say or do, do all in the name of the Lord. To see and hear God, we need to be tuned in. Bill Williams certainly seems to be tuned in to the beautiful Word of God. When I am pondering something, I love it when God's Word, or a great sermon, or lesson, just pops into my head. I praise and thank God, because I know that I am not that smart, in my own limitations. What really amazes me, is realizing that it didn't come from any book that I had read. Think about the people who write good books. Where did the good thoughts or lessons come from?

God's Word is living! Our telephones have 10 digits, but see how many combinations can be derived from them. Whatever our circumstance or condition, God's Word has the answer. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1). --dc

Christianity is about Jesus Christ

Donald Cole May 28th, 2009 2:26 am ET

Pop — Christianity, and what people do, even in the name of Christianity, are often two different things. When I say Christianity, I am talking about what Jesus Christ taught, and did. Not only are two persons of the same sex not to have sexual relations together, –neither is a man and a woman to have sex together, who are not married to each other. Either way, it takes self control and can be frustrating. Will you trust God, or men? If you believe there is no God, you must be blind. If you believe that the Bible and science are at odds with each other, you are ill taught. If you care, you will seek, and if you seek you will find. Will you be forever lost? Will you grow old, without hope? If you die from Aids, or whatever, –don’t blame God. -dc

About same sex marriage in this country

Donald Cole My post on Larry King: May 27th, 2009 9:34 pm ET

We started way back by taking God out of our schools; teaching the big lie, saying that the Bible and science are at odds with each other. Now we have no qualms about taking God out of our country. This country was founded on Christian principles, and we have been deeply blessed. Now they want to throw it all in the toilet. Christians put your armour on! The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.
